TOPIC: Why We Love Sport.

LEARNERS: pupils of the 7th form.

LEARNERS’ OBJECTIVES: by the end of the lesson students will be able to ask and answer the questions about sport, to share their opinions about sport, to present to class the information about famous sportsman, to operate with the new vocabulary on the topic, to write the chain story on the topic of the lesson, to refresh the grammar information about disjunctive questions, to improve their speaking, listening and writing skills

OBJECTS AND MATERIALS: the textbook(O.Karpiuk), pictures, tables, hand-out.

PROCEDURE:

1.BEGINNING OF THE LESSON.

Greeting. Poem “Nice to meet you!”

Topic. Aims.

Warming up.

I am a student.

I am a good student.

I am a clever student.

I am a talented student.

I am a fantastic student.

I am the most enthusiastic student.

I am trying to be the best student in the world.

(a sportsman, a runner, a footballer, a swimmer, a dancer, a player, etc.)

Questions: Are you a sports fan? Do you know anything about the OG? Who is your favourite sportsman? How many of our classmates are absent today? Why? What should you do to keep fit? What are winter sports? What water sports do you know? Is volleyball a team game? What is your favourite sports team? What sports are played with the ball ?What is your favourite outdoor/indoor sport?

Opinions:

Oh, sport is the best thing in the world!

There’s a great football club in our school/town.

It’s great fun to play football.

I am going to become a famous footballer.

Do I love sport?

I don’t know.

Of course, I love some sports games such as football or tennis.

But sometimes it’s so boring at our Physical education/training lessons.

Oh, no! I don’t like sport. I have some problems with my PE lessons. I hate to wear a tracksuit and trainers/sneakers and do exercises. I like computer games best of all!
