Тема. «Україна. Київ»

Підтема. «My Kyivs Divine» («Мій Київ - дивовижний»)

Мета.

Практична: ввести та активізувати лексичний матеріал теми; практикувати учнів у правильній вимові нових ЛО; практикувати у читанні тексту з метою отримання загального уявлення та з метою максимально повного й точного розуміння всієї інформації, що міститься у тексті; організувати аудіювання тексту в пред’явленні вчителя; удосконалювати навички монологічного та діалогічного мовлення.

 

Розвиваюча: розвивати пам'ять, увагу учнів, логічне мислення, здатність до здогадки, розвивати навички роботи в парах.

 

Освітня: розширити знання учнів про історичні та культурні пам’ятки нашої столиці.

Виховна: виховувати патріотичні почуття, любов до Батьківщини, столиці України, бажання вивчати її історію.

 

Обладнання: підручник А.Несвіт; демонстраційний матеріал – мультимедійна презентація; картки з назвами визначних місць Києва; роздавальний матеріал –картки з завданнями; картки з тестами.

Тип уроку: комбінований.

 

Хід уроку

І Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1. Привітання.

2. Вступна бесіда з учнями.

T.: You are right. “My Kyiv’s Divine.” («Мій Київ- дивовижний.») Have you guessed the topic of our lesson? Today we’ll speak about Kyiv and its sightseeing. The aim of the lesson is to share the information about Kyiv, its sights; to train the oral speech; we’ll train our listening and reading skills. Open your copy –books and write down today’s date.

ІІ Основна частина уроку.

1. Виконання вправ на розвиток навичок говоріння.

1) Speaking. Розповідь учнів про Україну та Київ.

T.: The pupils of our group have prepared the report about Ukraine and Kyiv. Let’s listen to their story.

  1. We live in Ukraine. It’s our Motherland.
  2. Ukraine is situated in Europe.
  3. The national symbols of Ukraine are the trident and the national flag.
  4. Ukraine is an independent state with Verhovna Rada and the president.
  5. The capital of our country is Kyiv. It’s an ancient city, it’s 1500 years old.
  6. Kyiv is the main city of Ukraine, its political, economic, industrial centre.
  7. It stands on the river Dnipro.
  8. The symbol of Kyiv is a chestnut tree.
  9. Khreschatyk is the main street of Kyiv.
  10. You can see a lot of historical monuments in Kyiv.        
  11. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
  12. Welcome to our famous capital – the great city of Kyiv!

T.: Listen to the descriptions of these landmarks and match the texts with the pictures.

 

1) It served as the main entrance to Kyiv up to the 18th century but at that time it was in quite a bad state. In 1832 there was a decision made to preserve it, and in 1970 a museum was created there.

 

2) This majestic cathedral is under the patronage of UNESCO. This was the place where royal ceremonies took place, chronicles were written, foreign books were translated, and where the first library and the first school of Kyivan Rus’ were organized.

 

3) This Kyiv monastery was built by Kyiv monks in 1051. At present this striking building is the holiest place in Ukraine.

 

4) This is one of the most interesting buildings in Kyiv located in a very quiet and peaceful part in the centre of Kyiv. Heads of antelopes, rhinoceros and elephants are carved into the walls of the building while the roof is decorated with dolphins, awful snakes and giant toads.

 

5) This is a multifunctional sports arena which holds sport, cultural, business and many other events. It is also the 8th largest football stadium in the world.

 

6) In this street there is beautiful St Andrew’s Church and other monuments, attractions

and some small museums.

Text “A Trip around Kyiv”

       Kyiv, the city (capital) of Ukraine, is on the Dnipro River. The city is less than (more than) 1500 years old. The shortest (main) street of the capital is Khreshchatyk Street. Independence Square is at the eastern (northern) end of Khreshchatyk Street. It is the most popular square (place) for national celebrations and holiday evenings (events).

       The national (historical) heart of the city is Podil. All the people (visitors) who come here like (admire) St. Andrew’s Church. Andriyivskiy Uzviz (Descent) is very popular with visitors (tourists). It is the worst (best) place to buy Ukrainian flowers (souvenirs) and art and crafts.

       St. Sophia’s Cathedral is famous for its beautiful paintings (mosaics) and frescoes.

       The Golden Gate is another building (monument) from the 11th century. It was built during the time of Volodymyr (Yaroslav) the Wise and it served as the main gate (entrance) to the city.

         Kyiv is a city where old (ancient) and modern live side by side. There are so few (many) places to visit that we can’t see everything during one short journey (trip).
