Unit 4. Into your portfolio: My favourite food (У твоє

портфоліо: Моя улюблена страва).

 

Objectives: to review the language of the unit, to practise speaking about food, to develop students` speaking and writing skills

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to make a poster and to tell about their favourite day, ask and answer questions about likes and dislikes in food, write about their meals

 

WARM-UP

 

  1. Sing ‘Hello’ song along with your students.
  2. Play ‘Vegetables’ video and encourage students to repeat.

-What do you think is the topic of our lesson?  FOOD

    3. "Speed reading game: teacher shows flashcards quickly, students read them fast."

PRACTICE

 

  1. Read and Match

 Read the words on the board and connect them with the right images.

 

  1. Divide your class into groups

The teacher has two types of food on plates—hot dogs and pizza—and the students must choose one of them."

-Choose one of the suggested meals.

 

Give out Handouts 1 cards to each group. Explain students that their task is to find words of the topic in the spiral. The team who finds the most words wins.

"The students split into two groups based on their preferences and work on a game; then, each group must quickly write their words down."

-Each group must quickly write their words on the board.

 

4.Dominoes  

Teacher asks a question (e.g., 'Do you like milk?'). The student with the matching tile answers 'I like milk' and plays the card."

3. Writing.

  1. Play ‘Food and drinks’ Bingo with your students.
