‒ Cultural: to grow-up the positive attitude to sport in our country.

Procedure of the Lesson

1. Organization moment

T.: Good morning, pupils! I am glad to see you! Today I want to suggest you to play a game. So, imagine that you are the sports experts. Please, divide into 2 team and think about command’s name. it will be 4 tasks for you. And at the end of our lesson we’ll know the winners.

TASK 1. «GUESS THE SPORT»

T.: You can see the certain kinds of sport on the interactive blackboard and write down them in your paper. Each correct name of sport will be estimate like one point (Slide 1-10).

Rugby, football, tennis, hockey, swimming, cycling, volleyball, boxing, skiing, golf.

TASK 2. «WHAT SPORTS THEY ARE?»

T.: Now I shall give you descriptions of some kinds of sport and your task is to listen and say what sports they are.

-A game played by two teams of five players who score points by throwing a large ball through an open net hanging from a metal ring (basketball).

-A game played between two or four people on a special playing area that involves hitting a small ball across a central net using a racket (tennis).

-A game played outside on grass in which each player tries to hit a small ball into a series of nine or 18 small holes, using a long, thin stick (golf).

-A game played especially in North America by two teams of nine players, in which a player hits a ball with a bat (= stick) and tries to runaround four bases on a large field before the other team returns the ball (baseball).

-A game played between two teams of eleven people, where each team tries to win by kicking a ball into the other team's goal (football).
