London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom, and home of many attractions that attract millions of tourists each year. A city famous for its double-decker buses and red phone booths. St. Paul’s Cathedral is a famous landmark in this city. The building is more than 500 years old. Many believe it is an architectural triumph as well as masterpiece of baroque design.

The Palace of Westminster, or the House of Parliament, is another famous spot in London. It is on the river Thames and visitors are allowed into many of its royal rooms. It is also the biggest parliament house worldwide. The famous clock tower, Big Ben, is also a part of the palace. Tower Bridge is another famous landmark. Over forty thousand people cross it every day. The famous giant London Eye, big wheel or Millennium Wheel, is 135 meters tall. It is a must-see as it has the best views in London. The best time to ride it is in the afternoon, at sunset.

No trip to London is complete, without a visit to Buckingham Palace. This is the Royal Family’s office home, and many world leaders visit it. The Changing of the Guard ceremony is an iconic event that takes place outside the palace. It is free to watch, and definitely worth a visit.
