Sally Cut the Lawn

The garden was very big and with the rain and sun everything was beautifull and growing fast. Sally`s dad was busy planting potatoes in the vegetable garden. He called his twelve-year-old daughter, Sally, and offered to pay her well if she cut the grass. The lawn was big but the price was right.

Sally worked hard all day stopping only for lunch and for a glass of coke in the afternoon. In the evening she was relaxing in a deck chair after her work. The whole lawn was cut, well, almost. except for one large patch in the corner of the garden.

"Well", said her father, " I`m sorry , you won`t get the money until you finish the job, Sally". She said nothing. " Do you remember what we agreed?", "No problem, Dad, I just want to leave that patch of grass the way it is", she said and went off to have a drink.

Sally worked all day and she was ready to go without money. Dad was curious, he wanted to know why. He went over to look at that patch. There, in the long grass, enjoing the cool of the evening, sat a big fat frog!
