A great summer vacation
I have just returned from the greatest summer vacation! It was so fantastic, I never wanted it to end. I spent eight days in Paris, France. My best friends, Henry and Steve, went with me. We had a beautiful hotel room in the Latin Quarter, and it wasn’t even expensive. We had a balcony with a wonderful view.
We visited many famous tourist places. My favourite was the Louvre, a well-known museum. I was always interested in art, so that was a special place for me. The museum is so huge, you could spend weeks there. Henry got tired walking around the museum and said “Enough! I need to take a break and rest.”
We took lots of breaks and sat in cafes along the river Seine. The French food we ate was delicious. The wines were tasty, too. Steve’s favourite part of the vacation was the hotel breakfast. He said he would be happy if he could eat croissants like those forever. We had so much fun! We’re talking about our next vacation!

Anton, 12: My computer games are my world! When I come home I quickly do my homework and get to my laptop. I've got a lot of friends online and we often play all day or chat on the Internet. My mum often gets angry when I don't hear what she says to me. I'm not bad at school subjects but sometimes I don't understand much of the lessons because it's difficult for me to concentrate. History is my least favourite subject because I can't remember the dates!
Oleksii, 11: I sometimes chat on Facebook with my friends but I don't do it very often. I can't understand how people can stay in all day! I think it's much better to go out and play with your friends. We often go to the school ground to play football. I've got a friend who goes in for football. He doesn't often play with us because he hasn't got much free time. I also like it when we talk about different things.
Olena, 11: It's good to go out with friends and to play outside. We like talking on different topics but I also like reading. It's good for your imagination. I've got an e-reader with lots of books in it. I like reading about the past and I also like fantasy.
People don't believe me when I say that I like learning but I really do. It's a good idea to do your homework first and then go out with friends. I don't have problems at school because I'm always ready for my lessons.
Lisa, 12: I think every day is different. I can go for a walk with friends one day; on another day I can stay at home and read. I think learning is important because it's good for your future. I want to be a doctor like my dad, so I have to study.
My favourite subject is maths because I like solving problems. I believe school is important but some lessons are really boring.
