On every stage of evolution of the British society the British family and the experience of education in it are closely connected with economical, political and social institutions.

A numerous investigations and researches testify that ancient British family was patriarchal.

Modern society is more tolerant of unmarried people, unmarried couples and single parents.

Many couples cohabit together without getting married and only 60 % of these people will get married.

According to the article nowadays parents treat their children as equals, children have more freedom and fathers are more involved with bringing up children.

Most British children live with their parents until they finish school and afterwards many go away to college.

Nowadays the government gives financial help in a form of a pension to old generation but in the future it will be more and more difficult for the economy to support the increasing number of the elderly.

According to the statistics presented in the text there is a quarter of single parent families and over one third marriages end in divorce.

Many English families live in flats and their own houses.

In front of their houses they usually have a small garden where they grow flowers and at the back of the house they have vegetable gardens where they grow different vegetables.
