“ Christmas Days in the Fairy Tale World”

Мета: закріпити та застосувати вміння та навички учнів з вивчених тем; розвивати навички монологічного та діалогічного мовлення, логічної побудуви висловлювання англійською мовою; розвивати творчу фантазію, пізнавальний інтерес, ініціативу в здійсненні мовленевої діяльності;  виховувати почуття прекрасного, повагу до культури та традицій інших народів; розвивати уміння ситуативного спілкування.

Обладнання: костюми казкових персонажів, стіл, скатертина, солодощі, кошик, трон принцеси, ілюстрації з казок, презентація, картки з назвами казок, зображення предметів для гри «Хто я?».

Хід свята

Teacher. Good afternoon, dear guests of our party!

These are Christmas days. But can you imagine Christmas without fairy tales?

 Today we will sing, recite poems, play and guess the riddles. Are you ready to have fun?

Great! Let’s start !

  • Do you like fairy tales?
  • Who are your favourite fairy tale characters?
  • Do you recognize fairy tales and characters in the pictures?

(Snow White and the seven Dwarfs, The Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, the Bun, the little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland)

So, welcome to the fairy tale world!

Teacher: Once upon a time, there lived a princess in a big old castle. She had never laughed. Now we are at the royal palace. There are many guests there. It`s princess` birthday today. It`s high time to start celebration but something is going wrong.  I`ll try to find out it from the king. What`s the matter? Why can`t we start celebration?

King: My daughter is very ill. She cannot laugh. It`s her birthday today there are many guests to make her happy. Royal singers for you, my dear daughter!!!

Royal Singers: 

 Song 1 Happy Birthday to you,
 

Princess:  (crying ) Thank you, but I`m not happy enough. I want something else.

 

King   Fairy-tale “Cinderella” for my dear  princess.

(читання казки в ролях) Cinderella

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl named Cinderella. She had two ugly stepsisters who were very cruel to her.

Stepsister 1: Did you clean the kitchen? Cinderella: Yes, I did.

 Stepsister 2: Did you polish my shoes? Cinderella: Yes, I did.

Stepsister 1: Did you iron my clothes? Cinderella: Yes, I did.

Stepsister 2: And...did you make breakfast?

 Cinderella: Yes, breakfast is ready.

 Narrator: The evil stepsisters made Cinderella do all the hard work.

Cinderella: (calling out) Stepsisters! A letter from the royal palace has arrived for you.

Stepsister 1: (fighting) Give it to me! I want to open it.

Stepsister 2: (fighting) No! I want to open it.

Stepsister 1 & 2: (looking at the invitation card) Look! We are invited to the Prince’s ball at the royal palace.

Cinderella: (crying sadly) I wish I could go, too.

Narrator: The night of the ball arrived.

Stepsister 1: (laughing) Ha, ha! We are going to have a great time at the ball.

Stepsister 2: (laughing) Have a great night working, Cinderella.

Narrator: After the evil stepsisters had left, suddenly, a fairy appeared.

Cinderella: Oh my! Who are you?

 Fairy godmother: I’m your fairy godmother, beautiful Cinderella. I am here to help you go to the ball tonight.

Narrator: The fairy godmother waved her magic wand. Cinderella’s rags turned into a beautiful dress.

Cinderella: Wow! It’s so beautiful.

Narrator: On her feet were sparkling glass slippers.

 Cinderella: Oh, I love them!

Narrator: The fairy godmother turned a pumpkin into an amazing coach and some mice into horses.

 Cinderella: What a lovely coach and handsome horses.

 Fairy godmother: You are ready now, my dear. Have fun tonight, but be back by midnight, or else!

 Cinderella: Okay, fairy godmother! Thank you.

Scene 2 (at the ball)

Narrator: At the ball, everyone wondered who the beautiful princess was.

Who is that beautiful princess? I’ve never seen such a beautiful woman in my life!

 Stepsister 1: Oh no! The Prince is going to dance with her.

Stepsister 2: This is not fair! He was meant to dance with me

Prince: Would you like to dance with me?

Cinderella: Oh, yes, your highness.

Narrator: The Prince danced every dance with her. Suddenly, the clock began to strike twelve.

Cinderella: I must go! Thank you for the dance.

Prince: Please stay! (shouting) What is your name?

Narrator: Cinderella did not answer and ran back to the coach, but she lost one of her glass slippers on the way. Then, the coach and horses disappeared. Cinderella’s beautiful dress turned back to rags.

Cinderella: Oh no! Everything’s gone. My beautiful dress and my sparkling slippers, where are they? Was it a dream?

Scene 3 (at Cinderella’s home)

Narrator: The next day, the Prince set out to find Cinderella again.

 Prince: I want every girl in the kingdom to try on this lost glass slipper. I must find my princess.

Narrator: But the glass slipper didn’t fit anyone. The Prince then arrived at Cinderella’s house.

 Stepsister 1: Good morning Prince. I am so happy that you found my slipper.

Stepsister 2: It is my slipper. I am the princess you are looking for.

Narrator: The ugly sisters tried to fit into the slipper.

 Stepsister 1: Let me try first!

Stepsister 2: No. Your feet are much too big. Give it to me!

Narrator: Their feet were much too big. Then the Prince saw Cinderella.

 Prince: Let this girl try.

Stepsister 1: But that’s only Cinderella.

Stepsister 2: She didn’t go to the ball. The slipper won’t fit her!

 Narrator: Cinderella sat down and tried on the slipper.

 Prince: It fits!

Cinderella: It fits!

 Stepsister 1 & 2:(surprised) It fits?

Prince: (smiling) You are the one I’ve been looking for! What is your name?

Cinderella: (smiling) My name is Cinderella.

Narrator: The Prince had found his princess and they lived happily ever afte

Princess: It is interesting. Cinderella is so happy. But me... ho, ho, ho (crying)

King: Don`t cry my daughter, I have the surprise for you. Let`s dance.

Christmas Song ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas ’

 

Princess: So beautiful song, but it can`t make me smile.

Ki ng: There are unusual guests at our party. Meet the king penguins

(dance)

King : Maybe riddles make you feel better  ?

  • It’s blue by night,
    By day it’s white.
    It is cold and not dry,
    It falls from the sky. (snow.)
  • What is without hands, without feet, without a head or body, but can open a door? (a wind)
  • What man cannot live inside the house? (a snowman)
  • What is at the end of Christmas? (The letter S)
  • I come with cold and snow. But children like me and know. (Winter.)
  • Is it better to write a letter to Santa on the table or on the desk? (On the paper)
  • We decorate…with toys, glass balls, sweets, bells. (Christmas tree)
  • What year has got only one day? (A New Year)
  • Which month of the year is the shortest? (February)
  • A little old woman with 12 children: some short, some long, some cold, some hot! What is it? (A year, 12 months)
  • It is white. It is cold. You can ski on it. What is it? (snow)
  • You make them out of snow just for fun (snowballs).

 

Princess: Oh, I know! I want a fairy tale!

King: Fairy-tale “Little Red Riding Hood

Narrator:

Let me tell you the tale of a little girl,

A girl that all of you know.

Let me tell you the tale of this special girl

Who is the star of our show.

Once, long ago, there was a little girl,

Loved by all who knew her well,

Especially by her grandmother dear,

Who gave her a velvet cap to wear.

It was so refined,

That she began to wear it all the time.

She wore it anytime she could

And so she got the name of Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red and her mother lived in a small village at the edge of a big scary forest.

 

Scene I

Mother: Little Red Riding Hood, Little Red Riding Hood! Where are you?

Little Red Riding Hood: I am here. Mother, What's the matter?

Mother: Little Red Riding Hood! Today is your grandmother's birthday. Take a cake, some apples and a jug of honey to her.

Little Red Riding Hood: All right, Mother.

Mother: Don't speak to anybody on the way. Don't stop in the wood and don't pick any flowers or mushrooms there.

Little Red Riding Hood: All right, dear Mother. Good-bye!

Mother: Good-bye, darling.

Scene II

(Little  Red Riding Hood in the wood.)

Little Red Riding Hood: How nice it is in the wood. There are many trees, flowers and mushrooms. I'll pick some flowers for my grandmother.

The Wolf appears.)

The Wolf: I am big and grey. I  live in the wood. I want to eat up Little Red Riding Hood.

The Wolf: Good morning, Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red Riding Hood: Good morning, Mr. Wolf.

The Wolf: Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?

Little Red Riding Hood: I am going to my grandmother. It’s her birthday today. I take a cake, some apples and honey to her.

The Wolf: Where does she live, your grandmother?

Little Red Riding Hood: She lives in a little house in the wood near the river.

The Wolf: Is it far from here?

Little Red Riding Hood: No, it is not.

The Wolf: Well, good-bye, Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red Riding Hood: Good-bye, Mr. Wolf.

Scene III

(The Wolf comes to  the grandmother's house and knocks at the door.) Grandmother: Who is there?

The Wolf: It's me, Little Red Riding Hood.

Grandmother: Come in, darling.

(The Wolf runs up to Grandmother and wants to catch her up, but she runs away. The Wolf puts on Grandmother's dress and cap and lies bed. Soon Little Red Riding Hood appears near Grandmother house.)

Little Red Riding Hood (singing):

Clap, clap, clap,

Rap, rap, rap,

I'm knocking at the door,

                                      Tap, tap, tap.

The Wolf: Who is there?

Little Red Riding Hood: It's me, Little Red Riding Hood.

The Wolf: Come in, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: Good morning, Granny.

The Wolf: Good morning, Little Red Riding Hood.

(Little Red Riding Hood puts the basket on the table and comes up to Granny's

bed.)

Little Red Riding Hood: Many happy returns of the day!

The Wolf: Thank you, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: What big eyes you have, Granny!

The Wolf: The better to see you, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: What big ears you have, Granny!

The Wolf: The better to hear you, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: What sharp teeth you have, Granny!

The Wolf: The better to eat you up!

(And the Wolf  jumps out of the bed and wants to catch Little Red Riding Hood, who is shouting: "Help! Help!"

Grandmother and the Hunter come in.

The Hunter:  Hands up, bad wolf!

The Wolf:  Forgive me please, I`ll be better, I`ll eat only vegetables.

The hunter: OK wolf, I believe you.  lets be friends.

Granny: Would you like a cap of tea? Welcome to my house dear guests!

Let it snow Song

Princesse:  I`m so happy. It`s the best fairy tale I`ve ever heard.

Teacher: I see you like fairy tales so much. What about making our own fairy tale? Lets try. British council

Teacher: To the end of our party  I would like to wish you Merry Christmas and happy New year! More fairy tales in our lives, and magic winter holidays!!!
