"English Party" (свято англійської мови для учнів початкової школи)

                                                                 Contest

for the primary schoolchildren

                                                                             of Kholmy school

1. Teacher: Dear friends! We are glad to see you here. We are having the English party. Let’s meet our teams.

(10 four-formers are on the stage, divided into two teams)

Our first team is “ Brave kids”. ( 5 children say together “We are brave kids”).

Our second team is “Good friends”. (5 children say:”We are good friends”).

(The teacher also names the jury – 3-4 persons)

2. T.: Our first contest is “I- contest”. Our teams will say the sentences starting with “I”. Listen to them, please.

“Brave kids”-team:

I can play football.

I like cats.

I go to school.

I love my mummy.

I have a grey kitten.

• ”Good friends”-team:

I play ball every day.

I can jump.

I have got a friend.

I help my mum.

I like candies.

T.: While our jury counts the points, we can listen to a song “There was a tree…”

( The pupils of the fifth form act out the song).

3.           T.: Our next task is “Letter chain”. The teams should cut out the words they find in the card and say a sentence, using the word.

So, our teams are working and we can listen to our first-formers.

(The first-formers sing a song “I am big-big cat”).

T.: Now our teams are ready. They have cards and let’s listen to them.

 “Brave kids” –team:

1. My desk is brown.
2. I like my school.
3. I have a cat.
4. My pen is red.
5. The bag is in the room.

“Good friends”- team:

1. I have a dog.
2. We live in the house.
3. I have a sister.
4. It’s my pen.
5. It’s a big room.

T.: So, our jury counts the points, and we give another task to our contestants. Look, these are placards with letters. The task is  -  write as many words with these letters as you can. Start, please. And our third-formers will sing a song to us.

(The third-formers sing a song “I like to sing…”)

T.: Our teams are ready. So, show your words. The first are “Good friends”.( Teams show the placards and the audience reads the words).

IV.  T.: Our last task to our teams is “Topic”. Our teams get the beginning of the sentence. They should complete it. Make as many sentences, as you can.

“Brave kids”-team – “I like playing…”

“Good friends”- team – “ I like eating…” 

“Brave kids”:

1. I like playing football.
2. I like playing basketball.
3. I like playing chess.
4. I like playing volleyball.
5. I like playing computer games.
6. I like playing dolls.
7. I like playing with my friends.

“Good friends”:

1. I like eating candies.
2. I like eating soup.
3. I like eating sausage.
4. I like eating salad.
5. I like eating apples.
6. I like eating bananas.
7. I like eating oranges.

T.: Thank you, kids. Now, let’s listen to our jury.

( The jury gives the results of the contest and the winners get the diplomas).
