SCENE 1     AT  THE FARM

NARRATOR11: Dorothy is a little girl. She lives in a farm in Kansas with her uncle Henry, her aunt Em, and a little black dog called Toto. 

UNCLE HENRY: Look! A tornado is coming! Come inside and go to the basement!

NARRATOR22: Toto is scared and hides under the bed

DOROTHY: Toto, Toto come here!

NARRATOR11: Suddenly, the house starts to shake. 

NARRATOR22: It spins and flies in the air like a balloon, miles and miles away from home. 

 

 

SCENE 2     AT AN UNKNOWN PLACE

DOROTHY: Oh, this place is so beautiful!

NORTH WITCH: Welcome to our country. Thank you for killing the Evil Witch.

DOROTHY: Me? No, no, it's not true!

NORTH WITCH: Well, your house fell on the witch and killed her.

DOROTHY: And who are you?

NORTH WITCH: I am the North Witch.

TOTO: Are you a real witch?

NORTH WITCH: Of course.  But I am a good witch. Thank you again. The magic shoes are yours.

NARRATOR22: Under the house Dorothy sees a pair of beautiful red shoes.

DOROTHY: I want to go home, to Kansas.

NORTH WITCH: Go to Emerald City.  The Wizard of Oz can help you to get home.

DOROTHY: How can I get to that city?

NORTH WITCH: Follow the yellow brick road.

TOTO: Let's go.

 

SCENE 3     They go down the yellow road

SCARECROW: I need a brain!  I need a brain!

DOROTHY: Who are you?

SCARECROW: It´s me.  Look this way.

TOTO: It's a scarecrow!

DOROTHY: I cannot get you a brain. Come with us to the Wizard of Oz, he can help you.

SCARECROW: I will go with you.

 

SCENE 4     They go down the yellow road

TIN MAN: Oil can! oil can!.

SCARECROW: I think he wants some oil.

DOROTHY: Look, there´s oil can on the floor. 

They put the oil into his chin, arms and head

TIN MAN: Oh, great! Now I can talk and move.  But I don’t have a heart. I want a real heart. 

TOTO: Come with us to the Wizard of Oz, he will help you!.

 

 

             SCENE 5    Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man go down the yellow road

TOTO: Arf!.  Arf!.  Arf!.

DOROTHY: Toto, stop barking!.

NARRATOR11: A scared Lion is hiding behind the bushes beside the road.

DOROTHY: Come here, Lion. Don't be afraid.

LION: I was scared of your little dog. I need some courage

TOTO: Come with us to the Wizard of Oz, he can help you!.

 

 

SCENE 6     AT THE PALACE

GUARD: What do you want?.  Go away.

LION: Oh, please open the door.  We need the Wizard of Oz, he can help us!

GUARD: Come in. 

WIZARD: I am a great Wizard of Oz! Why are you here? What do you want?

TIN MAN: O, great wizard, please, help us! Give me a real heart!

SCARECROW: Please, give me some brains!

LION: Oh, please, give me some courage!

TOTO: Help us to go home, to Kanzas!

WIZARD: I will help you, but you have to kill the Witch of the West. Then you will get your brain.  You will get courage. And you will have your heart, and you can go home. 

 

 

                                             SCENE 7          AT THE FLOWER FIELD    

NARRATOR22: They start their journey. After a long walk they come to a beautiful garden.

TOTO: Oh, those flowers are so pretty, and the smell is so nice, that I want to sleep.

LION: Me too. I feel so relaxed.  (falls asleep)

TIN MAN: Oh, I am so sleepy.  (falls asleep)

SCARECROW: No!  You can´t sleep now. (falls asleep)

 

 

                                            SCENE 8          AT THEWITCH'S PALACE

SCARECROW, TIN MAN, LION: Where are we?.

WITCH OF THE WEST: You are in my palace!.  And now, take off my sister’s shoes!.

DOROTHY: No!

WITCH OF THE WEST: Ha, ha, ha, ha. (she says some spells)

NARRATOR11 : Then Dorothy sees a jar of water on the floor, takes it and spills water over the witch.

WITCH OF THE WEST: No!  No! I am melting, melting, mel…. Oh, oh,oh.

 

         SCENE 9              AT THE PALACE

THE WIZARD: Scarecrow, here are your brains! Tin Man, here's your heart! Lion, here's your courage!

DOROTHY: And me? How can I go home?

THE WIZARD: The magic red shoes can take you anywhere. Tap your heels three times, and say     ”There’s no place like home”…

TOTO: Goodbye, friends! We will miss you

DOROTHY: There’s no place like home… (3)

 

SCENE 10            AT THE FARM

NARRATOR22: And Dorothy woke up in her bed.

DOROTHY: Where am I?.

UNCLE HENRY: You’re home!.

DOROTHY: It was a dream. The best dream in my life! I will never forget it!
