6. The Norsemen crossed the Tay in small boats.

7. The Norsemen took off their shoes not to make any noise and to take the Scots by surprise.

8. Stepping on a thistle one of the Norsemen tried not to cry.

9. The Scots were awaken by the noise of the boats.

10. The thistle is grown in all parts of Scotland even nowadays.
