If you enjoy cycling, the River Nile Bike Ride is an excellent option. Spend five fantastic days cycling along the bank of the river Nile, visiting some of the most famous sights in Egypt: the Pyramids of Giza, the Valley of the Kings and the enormous Dams of Aswan. 1    Leave London for Cairo. Stay overnight.

2   Visit pyramids (am). Go shopping in the Khan el-Khalili bazaar and souq (pm). Fly to Luxor. Drive to Esna to meet boat.

3   Cycle along the west bank of the Nile towards Edfu.

4   Cycle from Edfu to Aswan.

5   Cycle through Aswan to the High Dam. Visit the temples of Philae. Sail to Kom Ombo.

6   Cycle from Kon Ombo to Esna.

7   Cycle to Luxor through the Valley of the Kings, on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor town. Visit the Theban Necropolis (royal tombs).

8   Rest day, with optional sightseeing tour (highly recommended).

9   Fly to London (pm departure), via Cairo.
