Clare is eight years old and she lives in Manchester. She has a big family. Her two older brothers, Mike and Tom, are doctors. They work in a big hospital. Her brothers work a lot, and they only come home to visit sometimes.

The weather is usually warm and dry on her mum's birthday. Yesterday the weather wasn't good. It was very cool, and it rained all day, and Clare was sad. But today everyone is home, and she is really happy.
