Ann is nine years old. She lives in Bristol. There is a big tree growing in the garden behind her house.

One day Ann and her father worked in the garden. She pointed to the tree and asked: "Father, can you make a little house for me in that tree? I want a tree-house. Then my friend and I can play there".

The next day Ann's father began to make a house for her in the tree.

First he made a ladder to climb the tree. Then he made the floor of the house between three branches. He made four walls and a roof. There was a door in one of the walls and a window opposite the door. The house had one room. It had two small chairs and a cupboard.

Ann liked the house. She plays in it all day with her friend.
