Семестровий контроль аудіювання (ІІ семестр)

Mr Wilson lives in London. His granddaughter Alice is on holidays. She comes from France to see him. She also wants to visit the most interesting places in London. Her grandfather takes her to see the city.

         They go on the top of a double-decker. The streets of London are busy and very noisy. There are a lot of buses, trams, cars and people in the central part of the city. Alice is looking out of the window.

 «Oh,grandpa,» she says, «look, all the cars go on the left side of the road! It’s fantastic!» Near the Thames they see the Houses of Parliament, the tower with the biggest clock called Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.

         Then they make their way to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard. «Does the Queen live here?» asks Alice.

«Yes,» Mr Wilson answers, «this beautiful building is the home place of the British Queen.» «Is she at home now?» Alice wants to know. «Yes, she is. Can you see the flag over the Palace? When it is flying, she is at home.»

«And can I see the Queen?»

«Of course, you can. But she is a very busy person,» says Mr Wilson.
