Yesterday I woke up early. It was a lovely day, so I didn’t want to stay at home. I called my best friend, Wendy, and she invited me to join her in the town centre. I thought it was a great idea because I wanted to look at some trainers in a sports shop. We met and went to a computer shop first. Wendy wanted to buy some headphones for gaming, but the shop didn’t have the ones she wanted. However, she found a great computer game instead.

Then we went to the sports shop and I got a pair of sparkly trainers. After that, we went to our favourite café and ordered strawberry smoothies. As soon as we ordered, my cousin, John, walked in! It was a wonderful surprise. He recently moved to another town, you see. He sat with us and ordered a soft drink. When the waiter arrived with our drinks, one of the smoothies fell over. It went all over my shirt! Everybody in the café looked at me. It was so embarrassing. Luckily, my cousin had a denim jacket in his backpack, so he let me wear that. The waiter felt terrible and said our drinks were free of charge.
