A WHITE PENCIL

Many children like to draw. Lisa smith is from Great Britain. She is a little girl, she is five. She likes to draw, too.

Her father, Mr. Smith gives her a box of coloured pencils. He says, “The box of pencils is for you, my dear girl. You can open it.”

Liza opens the box and sees ten pencils. She likes them very much. “Oh, Father, they are very nice, thank you.” Then she takes the pencils one by one and looks at them.

“Look, Father!” she says. “a white pencil! But what for? What can we draw with a white pencil?”

“So you can draw a cat with a white pencil, you can draw -” But Lisa stops her father, “That’s all very good. But can I draw the things on the white paper? How can we see them?” “Take black paper,” her father says and Lisa is very happy.
