Who is Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky?

The first mention of this town was recorded in 1144. 

This town is world-known for its Tarasova gora. 

On the outskirts of Vinnitsa there is the estate-museum of Mykola Pirogov, a noted surgeon who was born lived here and was buried in 1881 in a vault by the church. 

This Ukrainian town is famous for its dendrological park-reserve "Sofiivka". 

"Sofiivka" was set up in the period of 1796-1801 by Count Pototsky for his daughter, beauty Sofia. 

You can find a collection of plants from many countries of the world, romantic-style pavillions and exotic summer houses, stone grottos, waterfalls and fontains, the underground tunnel with the river Stiks in “Sofiivka”. 

Travelling across Ukraine you can have an excellent opportunity to learn its history and culture, to see its ancient monuments and picturesque views. 

Taras Shevchenko, the great Ukrainian poet, artist and philosopher was born in Kaniv.
