The Mystery of the Old Library

When Emma and her brother Jake moved to a small town, they thought life there would be boring. There were no large shopping centres, cinemas, or amusement parks. However, everything changed when they visited the old town library for the first time.

The library was a large stone building near the river. Most people ignored it because it looked dark and dusty from the outside. Inside, however, Emma noticed something unusual. Behind one of the bookshelves, she found a small wooden door. It was hidden so carefully that almost nobody could see it.

Emma called Jake, and together they opened the door. Behind it, they discovered a tiny room filled with old maps, diaries, and photographs. On the table, there was a letter written many years ago by a famous traveller named William Bennett. In the letter, he described a hidden garden somewhere near the town.

The children became excited and decided to search for the garden. During the next few days, they studied the maps after school and compared them with places around the town. Finally, they realised that the garden was probably located behind the abandoned train station.

On Saturday morning, Emma and Jake went there with flashlights and backpacks. After walking through tall grass and broken fences, they found an iron gate covered with plants. Behind the gate, there was a beautiful garden full of colourful flowers and rare trees.

In the middle of the garden stood a stone bench with another letter. It said that the garden had been created as a peaceful place where people could relax and enjoy nature. Emma and Jake decided to tell the townspeople about the discovery so that the garden could become popular again.

From that moment, the old library was no longer an ordinary building for them. It became the beginning of their greatest adventure.
