Підсумковий урок з англійської мови для 11 класу з теми "Сім'я". Виконуючи завдання на уроці учні зможуть усвідомити важливість життєвих цінностей, скласти правила щасливої сім’ї, активувавши знойомі і нові слова. Під час роботи окрім основного підручника використані завдання з “Exam Excellence” і “Exam Choices”.

Learning outcomes

Equipment: cards with the tasks, a text book by O. Karpiuk, pictures, an audio, texts from “Exam Excellence” and “Exam Choices”

Procedure

  1.     Introduction

Every family has a story. Welcome to ours…

Students should invite us to work in the lesson

 

  1.     Warm up

Students have to answer the question one by one: “Who are you in your family?” E.g. I am a daughter, a granddaughter, a niece…

 

  1.     Work with cards

Finish the sentences about who is who in the family

- card 1 – orally

  1.     Speaking and discussion

 Why do we have conflicts in the family? What are the reasons?

E.g. because of school marks, parents` work, a generation gap…

 

  1.     Role play

The game is not prepared. We choose three volunteers who will play the roles of a father, a mother and a daughter. The situation is about the girl`s studying at school. The rest class can be involved as the other members of the family.

The idea is to show that everything can be solved by speaking or communication with each other.

 

  1.     Listening – ex 3, p 93

Read the statements, listen to the story, and write whose words are mentioned. Then check orally the results.

Discuss the boy`s situation:

  •         Is he happy now? Why yes or no?
  •         What can be advised to him?

 

  1.     Reading

A text is from “Exam Excellence”

  •         Read and fill missing phrases in the gapes, then check orally
  •         Discus the problems given in the text

  1.     Photo – story

There are 4 pictures which are shown one by one: a happy family, arguments in the family, gathering with other people, a happy family again. Students have to describe every picture mentioning feelings, actions and solutions or predictions.

The idea is to show that everything can be solved by speaking or communication with each other.

 

  1.     Sum up.  Speaking 

Every student has to say 2-3 sentences about his/her own family atmosphere or make up some rules of an ideal family.
