Theme (Тема): Grammar Workshop  “WELCOME TO THE CONDITIONAL LAND”

Objectives (Цілі):

• to practice the grammar point “Conditionals 0,1,2,3;to focus students on use of these Conditionals;
• to broaden students’ vocabulary; to interest students in learning grammar;  to develop students’ grammar competence; to motivate linguistic guess; to activate thinking and imagination; to activate error correction work;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class; to develop self-esteem and mutual esteem; to inspire students to work in pairs, groups.

Оutcomes: (Oчікувані результати):

• to analyse and understand the situations in which the Conditionals 0, 1,2,3 are used;
• to use Conditionals 0,1,2,3 in oral and written speech;
• to distinguish between the 0, 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Conditionals

Materials (Обладнання): стік-аркуші квадратної форми(8*8), клей,ножиці, маркери, конверти з флеш картками зображень  для складання речень, готові шаблони речень у різних Conditionals ( поділені на дві частини) , проєктор, презентація для супроводу уроку, записи на дошці.

План ходу заняття

1. Warm-Up.

The game “One lie and the truth”.

Students write two sentences about his\her relationships. One of them is false and another is truthful towards him\her. Then students read their sentences in turn and others try to guess which can be truth and explain the choice in 1-2 sentences.

2. Crafts Lab. Making Stacked Books. 

(The students are split into 2 groups)

Materials: 5 squares of paper , glue, pens

Instructions: layer 4 squares so that about 1.5cm hangs off the edge of each paper. Coat the 5^th square in glue and stick it on the end of the stack with edges pocking out. Turn over the stack. You have a Stacked book!

3. Speaking Club “The Letter from Conditional Land”

Every group receives an envelope with the flashcard inside. There are two pictures on the card. The students are asked to make up a sentence using the needed Conditional following the two pictures on the card and name the Conditional type.

e.g. If I had $1mln , I would buy Tesla car. - Conditional 2

4. Conditional Tails’ Hunt.

•          Students are shared into pairs. Every pair receives a note with one part of the sentence. One pupils of two has to move around the classroom and find the second part of the sentence. Then go back to the partner and stick two parts together. Then read the sentence and name the Conditional type.

5. Conclusions. Cinquain.

–Do you remember what a cinquain is ? Yes, it is a short five-line poem with no rhyme. Read the example and make up your own cinquain on one of the topics.

Conditional 1, Conditional 2, Conditional 3.

• Conditional O               ( one noun as a title)
• Real, natural                (two adjectives describing a title)
• Happening, using for true facts, isn’t changing….   (three verbs giving more  information about the title)
• It speaks about facts.      ( four-word sentence describing your emotions about the title)
• Truth\Fact.                   (one word mostly the title synonym or a very similar word)
