 The cleverest

(пізнавальна гра для учнів 4  класів)

Мета: показати, що учні засвоїли з англійської мови за час навчання; розвивати мовленнєві здібності та вміння працювати в команді; сприяти переходу лекси­ки з пасивного запасу до активного; розвивати пізна­вальний інтерес учнів; формувати культуру спілкуван­ня; виховувати почуття самостійності та вміння додати труднощі; виховувати інтерес та любов до вивчення англійської мови.

Хід заходу

Т. Dear pupils and guests! I’m very glad to see you. Welcome to our contest for young experts of the English language. Our contest is called “The cleverest”. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Let’s start.

    Two teams are welcome to our contest. First, let me introduce our jury. They are ... They will judge today’s contest. They’ll give 1 point for each correct answer. We are very glad to see you.

 T.  Now I want to introduce you our partici­pants. The first team is called “Friends” and the second —" “Non Stop”. .

The teams, please, introduce yourselves.

Team 1

Hi, everybody! We are “Friends”.  Motto: Good friends – good times,

                                                                    Good health – good cheer

                                                                    And happy summer every year.

We are very glad to see you and to take part in today’s contest.

Team 2

_ Hi, everybody! We are “Non Stop”    Motto:  Never backwards!

                                                                             Never in place!

                                                                              Only ahead!

                                                                              Only together!

and together we`ll  take part in the contest.

T. So let’s start. There are 12 rounds in our contest.

Round 1. Who knows English alphabet better?

You have to name the English alphabet correctly.

Round 2. Tongue twisters

Each pupil should choose one pattern and read it correctly as quickly as possible.

James plays with trains and planes.

Kate bakes eight tasty cakes.

Fat Pat had a fat cat.

Pat`s black cat sat in Pat`s hat.

Six sticky skeletons

Cob is Dob`s dog,  Tob is Mob`s dog.

A girl sees three big geese.

A cup of coffee in a nice coffee cup.

Round 3. What is there in my bag?

Write what is there in your bag?

Представники команд отримують аркуш папе­ру й ручку. За 1-2 хвилини вони повинні згадати й записати, що знаходиться в їхньому портфелі.

At the same time — contest for fans. Guessing riddles. Listen and guess.

1. I know everything, I teach everybody. But to make friends with me you must, first learn to read. (A book)

Round 4. Who knows Great Britain better? A quiz

What is the capital of GB?

How many parts does Great Britain consist of?

What holiday is celebrated on the 25th of De­cember?

What is the official language of the country?

What holiday is celebrated on the 31 of December?

What are the most popular British sports?

What is the colour of London buses?

Round 5.  Relaxation

Round 6. Read the words from every line. Take the first letter from the first word, the second — from the second, the third —- from the third, the fourth — from the fourth. Read the word.

A Little Spider

A little spider lived in a big forest. He was very little and very lonely. He didn’t have any friends and was very sad. One sunny day when he was lay­ing in the sun he heard buzzing and saw a small fly who became involved in spider’s web. The little spi­der helped her and they became friends.
