Розробка уроку серед природи, який дуже сподобався моїм діткам за підручником видавництва Oxford "Family and Friends. Starter".

  • To practice the colour words in the form of chant
  • To encourage students to orally describe and name colours
  • To ask the question What colour is it?
  • To answer It’s (green).
  • To encourage students to cherish nature and to be environment-friendly

Core: red, green, blue, black, white

What colour is it? – It’s (green).

Extra: yellow, orange, navy, violet

Materials/Equipment

  • Gym-mats or blankets for sitting
  • Student’s Portfolio© Worksheet #1: My colors
  • Coloring pencils or crayons, school pencil
  • Writing pads or binder to write on
  • A plushy to play “Throw and say” (Cerberus /Kero/)

1. Play “Hello” game to introduce the lesson.

2. Set students with mats on a schoolyard loan in a way, described below. It is possible to place 2 kids on 1 mat if size allows it.

Play “Throw and say” game:

  • Build up students into a circle formation
  • Throw a plushy to a student asking What’s your name?
  • Student answers My name’s (Annie) and then asks a fellow student next to him/her the same question, throwing a plushy to him/her

Game ends when plushy returns to a teacher.

1. Give students Student’s Portfolio© worksheet and say, that they will be learning some colors today.

2. Start working with a Student’s Portfolio© worksheet, introducing new words while coloring blank rectangles under words, that represent each color. It is necessary to keep an eye on children while they are drawing and to encourage them to spell the word couple of times while they apply color to a page.

Duration

10 minutes

1. Ask children to pay attention to an empty rectangle at each name of a color.

2. Tell them to look around and to search, where can each color “hide”.

3. Tell them to draw only with a pencil of a certain color the object where colors “hide”.

For example:

- apple for red

- sun for orange

- flower for yellow

- grass for green

- sky for blue

- folder for navy

- backpack for violet

- cloud for white and bird for black

 Play “Throw and say” game in a slightly different manner

  • Build up students into a circle formation
  • Throw a plushy to a student asking to translate the name of color from native language. After he/she answers let him/her to throw the plushy back to a teacher and then continue until you work through all of the colors and all of the colors.

Extra: Ask children if they liked the lesson and if they not, ask what could improve it.

Play “Goodbye” game to finish the lesson.

Reassure to collect all the supplies your students brought to a schoolyard. Check for left behind stuff and head to the classroom.
