My Bedroom. Demonstrative Pronouns.
Objectives:
Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Procedure
Introduction. Greeting.
Pupils watch, sing and act “Hello” song.
Answer the questions: What’s your name? How are you? How old are you? Where are you from? How many beds (armchairs, tables, lamps, mats…) are there in your room?
Warm-up. Vocabulary revision.

Checking the task. Pupils go to the blackboard and stick the wordcards under the flashcards.
Song “If you are happy”
Presentation. Grammar.
Teacher points to the chair (by 1 finger) – I like this chair. (near)
Teacher points to the windows (by 5 fingers) – I like those windows. (far)
Teacher points to the books (by 5 fingers) – I like these books. (near)
Look at the board, please.
How many apples are there? (T points to the picture).
Is it far (T shows the meaning using gestures and translates) or near to the hand?
We use This, when the object is one and near to the hand.
T does the same questions with other pictures. Sticks flashcards on the board. Ps listen and repeat words and sentences after the T few times.
Song “Open Shut Them”
Practice
Pupils look at the pictures. T gives pupils the instructions what to do and plays the recording. Pupils point to the correct picture as they listen. T stops the recording after each part to check the answers.
Pupils take turns to make statements using like and this/ that/these/those about objects in the classroom.
I like this desk. I like those books. I like that computer.
Grammar structure is on the board.
Pupils complete the sentences with the words in the box (this, that, these, those)
Summing up.
Game “Catch your word” (with a ball). T says the pronoun in the singular and Ps are to name the pronoun in the plural or T says words in the TL and Ps are to say them in English (or vice versa).
