Тема:  Seasons and weather            4^th form

Мета: активізувати лексичні навички з  теми «Погода та пори року»;  розвивати навички  аудіювання, говоріння;  навчити вести діалог у мовленнєвій ситуації “Talking about the weather”; розвивати культуру спілкування;  розвивати навички роботи з картою; виховувати любов до природи,  пізнавальний інтерес до навколишнього світу

Обладнання: малюнки, комп`ютер, картки, презентація

Хід уроку:

І. Oрганізаційний момент:

I) Introducton

T: Good morning, dear children! Glad to meet you. How are you today?

P: I’am very well. Thank you.

T: You are in a good mood and the weather is nice today.

2) Warming- up

T:  Look on the screen and say:

      What season is it?

      What are spring months?

      Do you like spring?   

      What season comes after spring? 

      What are summer months?

      Do you like summer? 

      What season comes after summer?

      Name autumn months.

      What season is it?

T: Every season has its weather. Listen to me and read after me:

       WEATHER

Whether the weather be fine

Or whether the weather be not;

Whether the weather be cold

Or whether the weather be hot;

         Will whether the weather,

Whether we like it or not!

 T: Find the words which are connected with our topic

1. Повідомлення теми  та мети уроку

 T: The topic of our lesson is “Seasons and weather”. Today we are going to speak about   weather, seasons, people’s activities and your favorite season.

2. T: Look at the board and find the weather words

3. Put one extra word away and guess the season:

 Rain, foggy, yellow leaves, snow, cloudy;

 Warm, green leaves, May, New Year;

 Snow, frosty, flowers, cold, hockey;

Sunny, July, snowman, hot, flowers.

4. Listening

T: Now we`ll watch the film “What is the weather like today?” We have  three  groups.

1^st group: Put the sentences in correct order:

It`s cold. It`s snowing. It`s sunny. It`s rainy. It`s windy.

2^nd group : Write the sentences. Answer the question” What is the weather like today?

3d group: Give   the Ukrainian equivalents.

1 Cold               а) сонячний

2  rainy             в) холодний

3 sunny             с) сніжний

 4 snowing        d) вітряний

 5 windy               e) дощовий

 5) Speaking

T: What’s the weather like in our planet today? Look at the key and the map.

    Ask each other about the weather in different   countries of the world.

     The temperature is …………………..degrees above zero.

6)  Role game “Weather forecast”

    T: So, you’ve learnt what the weather is like in our planet today. Do you know what is  the weather like in our country today? Let’s listen to the weather forecast.

     In Lviv it’s……………..

     The temperature is …………….degrees above zero.
