1. Greeting (Привітання).
Тeacher: Good morning, dear friends. How are you? You are so pretty and handsome today. You look like happy. It’s great!

T. – What kind of music is this? (It’s classical music)
- What do you feel when music is playing? (Ps.: It makes me feel like singing. Such
music makes me feel like running in the woods, listening to birds songs, laughing
and crying with joy. When I listen to classical music I see a green meadow with
beautiful flowers. When I hear this music I see my native land.
T. The topic of our todays lesson is “Music in our life”.
And now answer my questions, please.

"Стій, братця, стій! - кричить їм Мавпа,- постривайте!

Знов сіли, почали Квартет;
А діло все не йде вперед.

Послухали Осла, поважно сіли в ряд;
А все-таки Квартет не йде на лад.
Ще гірше, ніж раніш, пішли між ними чвари
І свари,
Кому і як сідать.
Припало Солов'ю якраз там пролітать,
До нього всі вдались, як до свого спасіння:
"Будь ласка,- мовили,- таж наберись терпіння,
Допоможи Квартет улаштувать,
І ноти й інструмент зуміли ми дістать,
Скажи лиш, як сідать!"
"Щоб буть музикою, потрібне тут уміння
Та трохи тонших би ушей,-
Їм одмовляє Соловей,-
Тож, як сідати - сварки марні,
Бо з вас музики незугарні".
T.: So, what is an orchestra?
Webster’s Engish-English dictionary gives such a definition:
An orchestra is a group of musicians including especially string players organized to perform
ensemble music.
T.: Try to render the fable briefly into English filling in the blanks with the following words: double-bass, rehearsal, instruments, arrangement, quartet, in line, ears, two violins, viola, opposite.
