Stick a set of flashcards on the walls round the classroom. Hold up each one and get the children to say the names as you do this. Give instructions e.g. ‘Point to the rabbit! Point to the teddy!’ Children listen, look round the classroom and point to the correct flashcard as fast as they can.

Pupils draw a six-square bingo frame and write in each square of their frame a different letter. They cross off each letter as it is called out. The first pupil who crosses the whole letters in the frame is the winner.

Ask pupils to open the books and look at the pictures of the board game. Give them time to look at the pictures. Then ask them to tell you what they can see and name the things. If it is difficult, talk to pupils in the mother language and write the difficult words on the word.
Ask pupils to listen to the CD.
Play the CD twice. Ask pupils to point to the pictures and say the number of them. Monitor the activity.

Divide pupils into small groups and explain how to play this board game. If it is difficult, talk to pupils in the mother language.
Then pupils take a dice and play the game throwing the dice. Then they move their points and name the necessary objects.

Write the numbers or stick colour flashcards on the board. Do choral repetition of the numbers or colour words. Then rub out one of the numbers or colour words. Pupils chant the whole numbers or colour words, including the missing one. Repeat, rubbing out another item. Continue till there are no numbers or colour words on the board and pupils are saying the whole sequence from memory. You can also play this by drawing class actions on the board, and rubbing them out one at a time.
Finish the lesson by saying “Goodbye” to pupils as they leave. Pupils say “Goodbye” to you.
