My Summer Reading

 My dear pupil! Your summer holidays are coming! And I think it’s a good idea to improve your reading skills!!!! You were doing great during your school year! I am sure it will be easy for you to read all these texts.

Text 1

Meet my family

        I have got a big family. I have got a mother, a father, a sister, a grandmother and a grandfather. My mother is young and beautiful. Her name is Elena Petrovna. My father is young, too. His name is Oleg Ivanovich. My sister is four and she doesn't go to school. My grandmother's name is Olga Semenovna, she is very kind. My grandfather’s name is Ivan Petrovich. He likes to play with me and we fly our kite every weekend. I love my family very much.

This is my school

       I am a pupil. I go to school. I like my school very much. Our classroom is very nice. It is large, clean and light. There are three windows in our classroom. The walls are blue and the floor is brown. The blackboard is black. There are fifteen desks in the classroom. There are a lot of flowers on the window-sills. There is a computer on the teacher’s table. We like our classroom.

Pets

       Many people like to have animals at home. We call them pets. People can have cats, dogs, parrots, spiders, guinea pigs, rabbits or hamsters as pets. I have got a cat. Her name is Bella. Bella has got small blue eyes and a pink funny nose. My cat likes to play with a small colourfull ball. I have a dog. His name is Blacky. Blacky is very clever and funny. I like to play with them. I love them very much.

Holidays

       I like holidays. They are funny. The holidays are New Year, Women's Day, Victory Day, Christmas, Easter, Grandparents’ Day. These holidays are important for people. Birthday is my favourite holiday. I get a lot of presents on my birthday. I always invite my friends for my birthday. We have much fun.

Text 5

Seasons

     There are four seasons. They are: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Winter is a very cold season. It is usually snowy and frosty in winter. We can make a snowman and play snowballs in winter. In spring the trees become green and birds sing. It is usually warm and sunny. We can play with friends outside. In summer it is hot. Summer is my favourite season. I can fly my kite, swim and ride my bike. In autumn the weather is usually rainy and windy. Schoolchildren go to school in September.
