Мета: сприяти формуванню комунікативної компетентності учнів на основі вивчених лексичних одиниць, мовних структур з теми уроку; сприяти розвитку в учнів уміння висловлювати власні судження, почуття у межах поданих ситуацій. Тип уроку: урок удосконалення мовленнєвих навичок. Вид уроку: нестандартний урок з елементами гри. Урок проводиться у формі змагання як заключний урок з теми.

Weather and Clothes (5 Form)

Objectives:

- to activate topical vocabulary;

- to develop students' logical thinking, memory, creative skills;

- to form positive attitude to learning English.

The type of the lesson: nonstandard.

Equipment: a laptop, a projector, a screen, handouts, topical pictures, flashcards, dolls.

                                            Procedure

I. Introduction. Warming-up

T: Good morning, children! I am glad to see you. How are you today? I hope everything is Ok and you are ready to work. The topic of our lesson is "Weather and Clothes". Look at the screen, please. Let's sing a song "What's the weather like today?"

(Students sing a song all together.)

II. The Main Part of the Lesson

Vocabulary Revision

T: Now, I suggest competing. Let's form  two teams. Take coloured sheets: red and green. Choose the captain of your team and name your team.

(Students choose the captains and name your teams.)

T: OK. The name of the first team is "The Smartest", the name of the second team is "Cool Kids". For every right answer your team gets a point. At the end of the lesson we'll count all your points and see what team is the winner.

1. "Missing letters"

T: The first task is to write the missing words. Look at the screen. There are the words with missing words on it.

(Sk_rt, sh_rts, trou_ers, bo_ts, s_eater, shi_t)

2. Game "Find the dress"

T: Stand up, form lines. I'm going to read the words and you have to go one by one to the desk, find the necessary kind of clothes and fix it on your part of the blackboard. Who is the first, gets a point. Are you ready? Let's begin. A blouse, a dress, a skirt, a jacket, a T-shirt, a scarf, socks, trousers, a hat, etc.

3."Describe a person"

T: You know that we need different clothes in different situations. Look at the screen, describe a person and tell why he or she is wearing these or those clothes, for what reason, where he/she is going. Every team has two pictures.

Physical Activity

(Students do physical exercises "Cucumber Dance")

4. "Situations"

T: Let's continue our competition. Now your task is to dress these dolls, according to the situations. Take the cards, read the situation and dress your dolls. You have got 3 minutes.

(Every team takes cards with situations.)

Situation 1: Mary is going to the party. It's summer. It's warm and sunny outside.

Situation 2: Anna is going to the park with her friends. It's autumn. It's chilly and windy outside.

Situation 3: Liza is going to the country for picnic. It's spring. It's warm and sunny outside.

Situation 4: Kate is going to the skating - rink. It's winter. It's frosty and snowy outside.

5. Dialogues

T: Make your own dialogues and play them. Look at the screen and use the samples.

- Hello!

- Hello!

- I am going to....

- I am wearing....

- But it's cold outside.

- Then I'll put on....

III. Summing-up. Home Assignment

T: We are coming to the end of the lesson. I am  pleased with your work. The team "The Smartest" has got... points. The team "Cool Kids" has got... points. The winner of our competition is the team....

Your homework is to prepare clothes for a girl or a boy for a week.
