Тема програми: КРАЇНИ ВИУЧУВАНОЇ МОВИ
Тема уроку: FAMOUS BRITISH AND AMERICAN PEOPLE
Цілі уроку:
навчальна: ознайомити учнів з новою лексикою з теми «Відомі британці та американці», активізувати її вживання в мовленні; вдосконалювати навички читання, говоріння та аудіювання;
розвивальна: розвивати вміння висловлювати власні думки і припущення, вдосконалювати навички монологічного висловлювання, розвивати увагу, пам'ять, мовну здогадку та критичне мислення;
виховна: виховувати повагу до видатних людей та їх внесок у суспільний розвиток, виховувати зацікавленість у практичному використанні мови.
Завдання:
- активізувати вживання лексики за темою уроку;
- вдосконалювати навички поверхневого читання та читання тексту з метою пошуку певної інформації;
- вдосконалювати навички сприймати іноземну мову на слух з метою розуміння необхідної інформації;
- вчити здобувачів освіти висловлювати свою точку зору за темою уроку.
Тип уроку: засвоєння нових знань
Обладнання: ноутбук, цифровий проєктор, мультимедійна дошка, смартфони в учнів, доступ до мережі Інтернет, підручник Нерсисян М. А., Піроженко А. О.
Англійська мова (11-ий рік навчання, рівень стандарту), роздатковий матеріал до уроку, аудіо файл “Outstanding Americans”, вчительська презентація до уроку.
Методи, які застосовуються на уроці: комунікативний, інформаційно-рецептивний та інтерактивний.
Прийоми, які застосовуються на уроці: відпрацювання вимови та використання активної лексики уроку в мовленні, бесіда, робота в парах, індивідуальне опитування, фронтальне опитування, виконання тестових завдань, читання мовчки і вголос, аудіювання автентичного текстy, робота з інтерактивними аркушами, інтерактивна вправа «Мікрофон», вираження власної думки.

T: - You are right. All these people are well-known not only in their countries but also throughout the world. These inspiring men and women have made a positive contribution in different fields – including science, politics, music, human rights. We are fond of these people; we like to learn about them and many of them are really great role models for us. Well, can you guess the theme of our lesson? P: … T: You are right. Today we are going to speak about some famous British and American people.
So, what are your expectations? T: And of course, we shall improve our skills in oral speech, reading and listening while working on the topic. So, write down the date and the theme of our lesson into your copybooks. |

II. 2. Розвиток навички читання a) Pre-reading task T: We have learnt much about Great Britain and its culture. Now we are going to read about some famous people of this country. The BBC has asked the British public to nominate their favourite famous Britons. Some people nominated are celebrities alive today. Some of the nominees were historical figures who contributed to Britain's past. Work in pairs. Match the names of the outstanding Britons to the pictures and divide them according to their contributions. T: - Ok, let’s check. Who are these people? Are they still alive? - More than a million people participated in the BBC poll to find the most popular famous Briton. This important twentieth century politician and statesman received the most votes. He led the British people during the Second World War and his inspirational speeches helped people continue to hope for peace during very difficult times. He is known for his determination and his ability to unite people with strong words. Many older Britons would be able to recognize the sound of his voice immediately. Some voters argue that more modern celebrities do not offer the same role models and inspiration as historical figures.

2) This brilliant and very popular footballer has been in the British papers for a month. The stories surrounding his celebrity marriage, his move to Spain and the scandal of a recent affair with another woman continue to make him and his wife Victoria front page news. The couple invited a celebrity magazine to photograph their wedding and it cost the magazine over one million pounds. He is best known as a Manchester United player and captain of his country's team. He is frequently presented as a role model for young boys and, until recently, as a perfect family man and father. His clothes and his hair are copied by many youngsters.

3) The cult of Monarchy began in Tudor Britain and for centuries the British looked to their Royal family for an example. However, the royals had a distant and very private life. The start of the 1980s saw the Royal family in a difficult and not very popular position. They were considered old fashioned and out of touch with real people. Then this young British aristocrat married the heir to the throne, Charles. It was like a fairy tale with a new Princess. When she died tragically in a car accident in Paris the British public showed their affection and admiration for this very special royal. She had improved the popularity of the Royal family because she made friends with ordinary people and was famous for being very modern and in touch with the real world. She was famous for her work with charity but her clothes and her physical image were as famous as well. Newspapers around the world continue to write stories about her life and her tragic death.
