3.                                                                                                 Whiteboard and markers

4.                                                                                                 Worksheets or exercises for practice Lesson Outline:

Introduction (5 minutes):

1.                         Begin the lesson by asking students what types of things they have in their houses.

2.                     Introduce the topic "Things in My House" and explain that they will be learning new vocabulary related to items found in different rooms of a house.

Vocabulary Introduction (5 minutes):

1.   Present pictures or flashcards of the new vocabulary words (cupboard, gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, dining room, washing machine, washbasin).

3. Encourage students to repeat the words after you and ask questions to ensure understanding.

Guessing Game Activity (15 minutes):

image     Divide the class into two teams.

image One student from each team comes to the front of the class.

image Show a flashcard or picture to both students (without showing the rest of the class).

image The students take turns giving clues about the item on the card without saying the actual word. For example, for "fridge," they might say, "You keep your food cold in this appliance in the kitchen."

image Their teammates try to guess the item based on the clues given.

image The team that correctly guesses the most items wins the round.

image Repeat with different students and flashcards until all students have had a chance to participate.

Group Activity: Room Descriptions (10 minutes):

1.                                     Divide students into small groups and assign each group a room in a house (e.g., kitchen, dining room, bathroom).

2.                                 In their groups, students create sentences using "there is/there are" to describe the items they would typically find in their assigned room.

3.                                 Encourage creativity and accuracy in their descriptions.

4.                                 Groups share their descriptions with the class, and classmates can guess which room is being described based on the sentences.

Worksheet Practice (5 minutes):

1.                          Distribute worksheets or handouts with exercises related to using "there is/there are" and matching household items with their corresponding rooms.

2.                      Monitor and assist students as they complete the exercises independently or in pairs.

3.                      Review the answers as a class to reinforce learning.

Wrap-Up (5 minutes):

1.                 Review the key vocabulary words and the grammar rule for using "there is/there are" in sentences.

2.             Ask students to share one new thing they learned about household items or rooms in a house.

3.             Assign a simple homework task, such as drawing a room in their house and labeling items using the new vocabulary and grammar structures.
