We are very glad to see you here. Glad to meet you, dear boys and girls. Today we are having a competition, an English quiz and each of you will take part in it as a member of a team. We will not read texts or learn dialogues. Today we will play.
Today we are going to have a kind of intellectual game between two teams. We hope it'll be rather interesting for you and you'll have a good time.
So, be attentive, listen to all the questions and try to give the right answers.
We wish you good luck and hope for your active participation. And whatever team is the first, the main winner, of course, will be friendship.
Yes, you'll have to work together to make the common decision and it's possible only when you are united, when you are real friends.

Task 4 “The Phone Number”
T: I need 2 representatives from each team. The task for the first pupil is to say the phone number to your partner. And your partner has to write it down on the blackboard. The team will get two stars for the correct written phone number.

Task 5 “Find the opposites”
T: Look at the blackboard! Here you can see opposite words, but they are mixed. Your task is to find the opposite word for each word from the first column. Do it in turns. The team will get one star for each pair of opposite words.

Task 6. “Mime Game”
T: And now let’s have a small pause and play the “Mime game”. You will take the card with the word and your task is to mime it. It may be an action or an animal.

Task 7. “Draw the time”
T: Look at the clocks. As you can see on some clocks the hands are missing and on the other ones the numbers are missing. The task for each team is to draw the hands or to write the numbers pointing the time that I will tell you. The team will get one star for each correct answer.

Task 8 . “Say the correct answer”
T: Look at the blackboard! Here you can see numbers. The task for each team is to say the number and give the correct answer. There may be different questions, riddles, sums, etc. hidden behind each number. The team will get one star for each correct answer. If one team gives the incorrect answer, the other team may give the correct answer and get one extra star.

Task 9 .“My favourite letter”.
The next competition is called “My favourite letter”. I shall give you letter [ S ] and your task will be to write as many words , as you know, which begin with this letter. For every word you get 1 point.
Task 10. “ABC”.
The next competition is called “ABC”. Here your task is to put words in alphabetical order (according to the first letter)

Task 11. “Diamond poem”
T: Each team will get a set of cards with words and one sheet of paper with the pattern of the diamond poem. Your task is from the given words to make a diamond poem and write it down on this sheet of paper. The team that will do the task first will get 2 stars, the second team – 1 star .

Task 13. Our last competition is called “Young painters”. I will read you the description of a monster’s appearance, and you are to draw it. (5 min)
The monster’s name is Kroko. He has an oval green body. His head is square and orange. His left arm is bigger than his right one. His right leg is straight and his left leg is not straight, it is crooked. He has three eyes and 2 noses. Kroko’s mouth is big and his teeth are very small and yellow. His hair is dark, curly and long.
For every correct part of the body you get 1 point. (max 15)
