It is the first of September. Summer holidays are over, and it is time to go back to school. Emma is a sixth-grade student. She is happy to see her classmates and teachers again.

Emma gets up at seven o’clock in the morning. She has breakfast and puts her books, notebooks and pencil case into her school bag. She wears her favourite blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

At school, Emma meets her best friend, Kate. They talk about their summer holidays. Kate visited her grandparents in the village, and Emma travelled to the seaside with her family. They had a wonderful time!

This year, Emma has got many interesting subjects. Her favourite subjects are English, Maths and Science. She likes English because she enjoys learning new words and speaking with her friends.

Emma’s school day starts at eight thirty. She has six lessons a day. During breaks, she talks to her friends or plays games in the schoolyard. Her English teacher is kind and friendly.
