Micro topic: My family tree.

Learning objectives:

By the end of the lesson pupils will be able

     to revise lexical units;

     to use vocabulary related to the topic;

     to develop listening and speaking skills;

     to practice pupils in  pair activities.

Outcomes: By the end of the lesson pupils will be able:

     show and name the members of  the family .

     ask and answer the questions about the family.

Revision of target language and structures.

Procedure

I.Beginning of the lesson

Introduction

Warm up/review

1.     Greeting

T: Hello, everyone! Welcome to our lesson !

Red, green ,yellow ,blue . I am glad to see you.

T: Your turn, please.

Ps: Hello. Red, green ,yellow ,blue . I am glad to see you too .

2.     Warm up.

T: How are you?

        -Are you thirsty/ hungry/ happy/ sad/ tired/ sleepy?

      T:Let`s play the game with a ball.(P1-P2…)

      P1:I am happy. I am not tired.

-How are you?

      T. Let’s sing a song “ Hello .How are you?”(Slide 4 )

   3) Phonetic drills (sound  )    Let’s recite a small poem. (Slide  5)                                

      This finger is a father.

This finger is a mother.                                                    

This finger is a brother.      

This finger is a sister.

This finger is me.

And it’s my family.

II. The main part of the lesson

Introduction of the topic ”My family and friends”  

     Students are suggested a video ‘’My family and me’’ to watch and guess the topic of the lesson.

     Teacher draws students’ attention to the board and drills the vocabulary in chorus.

Focus on: I’m… You  are … She is … He is …etc.

Presentation  activity.

T: Who is this?(Slide 8-14  )

   Ps: This is a father/ mother/ sister/ brother…etc.

 Revision of the vocabulary in the form of the game ( Slide 15 )

T: Now try to guess the hidden members of the family.

Look and say.

Game ”What is missing?”

T: Let’s listen and sing a song.(Slide 15 )

Vocabulary Revision.

Watch a video ‘’Magic English Family.’’(Slide 16  )

Making Family Tree.

     Students do the coloring task and then present it to the class naming the members  of the family. They can use the photos .

Oral  Practice

P1: This is my father .His name is….He  is brave.

 This is my mother .Her name is …. She is kind.

 This is my sister .Her name is ….

     P2: This is my family. I have got a father .His name is ….. I have got a mother .Her   name is …..

CONTROLLED  PRACTICE

 T: Now you work in pairs.(Slide  19) One pupil asks  the question ‘’Have you got a….?” pointing to the picture (photo) and answer.

P1:Have you got a sister?

P2:Yes, I have./No, I haven’t.

P1: Have you got an aunt?

P2:Yes, I have .No, I haven’t.

FREER PRACTICE

  T: Now it is time to trace the letters in each row to write the names of family members.     Then draw a line to match each family member name to its picture.

Ps trace and draw a line after that they work in groups of four and share with the friends.  (Слайд  20)
