PUPIL 1: Dear teachers and pupils. On the 25th of December English people celebrate Christmas. It`s a happy holiday for many people in different countries. On this day we wish you to be happy, healthy and wealthy.
PUPIL 2: Some weeks before Christmas English people are busy. They send greeting cards to all their relatives and friends. You can buy Christmas cards or you can make them. Many children make their cards at school.
PUPIL 3: People buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, colored balls and little colored lights. We also have a beautiful Christmas tree in our hall.
PUPIL 4: On Christmas Eve people put their presents under the tree. When children go to bed they put their stockings near the beds.
PUPIL 5: At night Father Christmas comes. He puts the presents in the children`s stockings.
PUPIL 6: So, sit still and listen carefully the winter fairy tale.
STORY-TELLER: Once upon a time in a faraway northern land there lived a queen`s family. On a New Year`s Eve the queen wished for a basket full of snowdrops to be brought to her palace.
QUEEN: I`ve give a lot of gold for it only find and bring me my favourite flowers.
STORY-TELLER: In the kingdom there lived a woman with two daughters. One of them was her own daughter and she loved the girl. The other was her step-daughter and the stepmother didn`t love her. The cruel woman sent her step-daughter to the forest to pick up snowdrops.
STEPMOTHER: Go into the wood and pick some snowdrops!
STEP-DAUGHTER: How can I find snowdrops now? I can`t find them until March!
STEPMOTHER: Don`t come home without flowers! Here take this basket.

STEP-DAUGHTER: Hello, Hare! Hello, Squirrel!
Hare: Hello! We are glad to see you. How are you?
Step-daughter: I`m very cold. A chilly wind is blowing. It`s snowing.
Squirrel: You are not dressed for the weather, your coat isn`t warm enough.
Hare: Hush! I see some people around the fire.
January with cold is set In hot July the skies are clear
March wind often rages For fruit September opens the way
In April weather changes October sweeps the leaves away
Pretty flowers come in May Next enters grey November
Sunny June brings longest day And lastly, snowly December.
Step-daughter: Good evening!
January: Good evening, little girl!
Step-daughter: May I sit near your fire and keep warm?
February: What are you doing here at night?
August: Aren`t you picking mushrooms?
July: Aren`t you picking berries?
May: Aren`t you picking flowers?
Step-daughter: It isn`t a joke, my mother has sent me to pick snowdrops. The queen promised a reward for them. What shall I do?
March: Everything is good in its season.
April: It isn`t time for snowdrops yet.
December: I know she is a good girl. I met her last winter. She came to the forest to gather dry sticks.
August: I saw her last summer. She picked berries, but she never did any harm to the forest.
October: She came here in autumn to pick mushrooms.
January: Well, we`ll bring you spring if you solve the riddle « A little old woman has 12 children: some short, some long, some cold, some hot». What is it?
Step-daughter: It`s a year!
March: Brother January, let me take your place?
January: I would let you take my place, but you can`t have March coming before February.
February: Oh, all right. Go ahead and let him take your place.
January: Now it`s your turn, brother February.
February: Now it`s your turn, brother March.
Step-daughter: Oh, dear. Lots of snowdrops!
September: Hurry up! Hurry up!
November: But don`t tell anybody about it!
Step-daughter: I promise to keep it in a secret!
April: We like you very much. Take this magic ring, put it on your finger. If you need our help again, drop the ring and say the magic word.
June: And you`ll have a chance to see all of us and to talk to us. Good luck to you!
Together: Good-bye, dear!
Step-daughter: Good-bye, brothers months!
