Revision
• Draw a tree on the board. Make sure that the top part of the tree is big enough to fit six flashcards on it. • Stick the flashcards of mother, father, sister, brother and Ron on the top part of the tree in hierarchical order. (Make sure to leave some space above to stick the grandmother and grandfather flashcards later.) Then, draw branches between the family members so that the relationships are obvious. • Point to each flashcard while holding Ron's finger puppet and encourage Ss to name the family members. Say, This is my (mother) and have Ss fill in the rest. Warm up
• Show Ss the grandmother and grandfather flashcards and ask them to guess how they're related to Ron. Accept answers in L1. Then, stick the flashcards above Ron's mother or father and draw branches between them, as before.
• While holding Ron's finger puppet, point to Ron's grandfather and say, This is my grandfather. Then point to Ron's grandmother and say, This is my grandmother.
• Have Ss repeat both phrases, one at a time.
Vocabulary
• Have Ss open their books to page 34 and point out the people and the pony in the vocabulary section. Play the CD a few times and have Ss point to the people and the pony and repeat. • Say the words again in random order and have Ss repeat and point.
