All about Cossacks Reading

Some of the most popular Ukrainian cartoon characters are three Cossacks from the series 'All about the Cossacks' which began in 1967. Later eight more cartoons appeared. The shortest one was 9 minutes and the longest one was 19 minutes. Both children and adults loved them very much. It's interestig to know that the Ukrainian Cossacks from the cartoons became popular in many countries and especially in Iran!

There are many Cossacks in the cartoon, but there are only three main characters. They're called Hrey, Oko and Tur. Hray is tall and slim ang he's very clever. Oko is short but he's full of energy and is very quick. Tur is rather shy, but he's very strong. It's not strange that they have names, but strange that we never hear their names in cartoons!

In the series the Cossacks cook, fight witn their enemies, save their girlfriends and even play football and ice hockey.

During Euro-2012, people saw that tne Ukraine national team had the same opponents in Group D as tne Cossacks had in tne cartoon! In the championship Ukraine played against Sweden, France and England. In the cartoon the Cossacks played against tne Knights, the Musketeers and the Gentlemen. It's fantastic that this prediction was made 42 years earlier!!!

Ukrainian animators decided to make the second season of the Cossacks' adventures. They are planning to make 13 new episodes.
