In Africa, where it is hot and dry, mud is a good building material. And people in Africa make huts with mud walls. Thick walls help to keep the houses cool.
Today many people still live in houses made of mud, or dry grass, or logs. Others live in houses made of stone and bricks.
No matter where we live, all our houses have walls, ceilings and floors to protect us from rain, snow and wind.
