He participated in the English Premier League, and won nine trophies, including the UEFA Champions League. He also was awarded the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2008.

In 2009, Ronaldo joined Real Madrid and became the most expensive football player in history. He broke Real’s scoring record with 53 goals. Maradona called Ronaldo "the best player on the planet".
