AN ENGLISH TEACHER IN ITALY
My name is Pauline. I’m thirty. I come from the UK, but I don’t live there. I live in Naples, in the south of Italy. I’m a teacher. I teach English to Italian students.
Three years ago I came to Italy. At first, I didn’t know any Italian, but now I can speak it well. I never speak Italian in the classroom – only English!
I enjoy living in Italy. The people are very friendly. It’s very different from the UK. The weather here is hotter, and I think the food is better. Most Italian cities are very old and beautiful, but they’re noisy too – that’s the only thing I don’t like about them.
Will I go back to England in the future? I don’t know, but I’m going to stay in Naples for two or three more years. I’m happy here!
