The task:

 It was customary at the time of limericks to accompany the verse with an absurd illustration on the same subject. Read these limericks and draw your own funny pictures to them.

• There was a grey cat,

That seemed so fat!

He couldn’t jump and run.

To look at it was fun.

But the cat felt often sad.

• All the time Ben was stuck his bed.

Because he was lazy and very fat.

He didn’t go out for days

So he never saw the Moon or sun rays

And he never was happy or glad.

• One day an old man saws mouse,

That found a cozy place in his house.

The mouse was very glad,

That it could sleep in old man’s bed.

What a clever and funny mouse.
