Neznayko (влітає): Hello! Діти, я вам співчуваюОй у нас зараз  буде урок англійської, а навчає мене не абихто,  сама пані EnglishАнглійська мова. Проте я вважаю, що і так знаю англійську досить добре.

Language: Who knows English very well?

Neznayko:  Ну я! А що? How do you do? Where do you live? Kyiv is a capital of UKRAINЕ. Bland a med. Head&Shoulders… Та я стільки слів знаю!

Language: So let’s start our lesson right now. What is your name?

Neznayko:  Це я знаю! Хто таке не знає?! My name is Neznayko.

Language: How do you do?

Neznayko:  А можна повільніше? Бо це ж ви таке питаєте-як в інституті… Що це ви таке спитали?

Language: Як справи?

Neznayko: Ось! Бачите, діти! Я ж казав що англійська – це якась неправильна мова! How-do-you-do. Це ж скільки слівАж чотириА спитали всього-на-всього «Як справи?» Це ж слів удвічі більше. Що ж виходить – може й голова у мене стане удвічі більша, коли я вивчу всю цю англійську? Вибачайте, але я вважаю, що мій словниковий припас достатньо широкий, і мене вже можна вважати досить просвіченою людиною. А англійська … Хіба це так важливо?

Language: Children why do we learn English?

Pupil 1. I learn English because I want to be good at English.

Pupil 2. I learn English because I want to travel to other countries.

Pupil 3. I learn English because I want to watch films in English.

Pupil 4. I learn English because I want to read English books.

Pupil 5. I learn English because I want to sing English songs.

Pupil 6. I learn English because I want to have friends from other countries.

Neznayko:  Як можна вивчити всі ці дивні слова! Я, щойно почую Good morning!, то мені так і кортить кудись  утекти…  Англійська - це ж так нудно!!! (Незнайко плаче)

Language:  Dont cry, Neznayko. Today we have a merry holiday “English is cool!” Please be active and show your knowledge. We have two teams. The first team is “Smiles” and the second is “The best”. Now teams, say your mottoes, please.

Team 1. The motto our team is “Don’t cry, always smile”.

Team 2. The motto our team is   We like to study.

We like to rest.

We are always happy.

We are the best.

All the participants have badges with the emblem of their team.  Now let me introduce our jury. The jury can consist of 3 people – 1 teacher ____________________and 2 pupils of senior classes (10th ________________and 11th_________________)

Teacher. So it’s high time to begin our competition. Are you ready to start?

Pupils. Yes, of course.

Teacher. The first round is “GREETING”:

1) Name

2) Age, appearance

3) Favorite subjects

4) Hobby

5) Favorite sport

Teacher. So very well. What is the score of the first / second team? The score of “Smiles” is ____________. The score of “The Best” is ____________.

 Teacher . You can see the word “M I S U N D E R S T A N D I N G”. Make up as many words from it as possible. You have only three minutes. The team will make up more words – wins.

 Keyexample: understand, ear, date, sun, dentist, dress, dream, rain, read, ten, time, star, red, sea, great, tree, train, meat, seat, stand, minus, under, drum, run, game, mister, miss, sit.

Teacher. So very well. What is the score of the first / second team? The score of “Smiles” is ____________. The score of “The Best” is ____________.

 Teacher: Now, each team chooses one representative who goes to the blackboard. I will tell you English words, and you will translate them into Ukrainian in two minutes.Кожна команда обирає одного представника, який виходить до дошки. Я буду казати вам слова англійською, а ви будете якнайшвидше казати їх переклад. Той з вас, хто перекладе правильно більше слів за 2 хвилини, принесе бал своїй команді. Who will be the first one?

          Teacher. Our children are very creative. They know how to spend their free time in the most useful way. There are many different activities you can do in your leisure time your task is to write as many names of hobbies as you can. You have only one minute.

 Possible answers: singing, dancing, cooking, taking photos,, sport, watching TV, playing computer games, collecting things, reading, fishing, sightseeing, gardening, listening to music, travelling.

Teacher. So very well. What is the score of the first / second team? The score of “Smiles” is ____________. The score of “The Best” is ____________.

Teacher: The second task is for those who are keen on drawing and painting. Two pupils of each team will fulfill the task. One student reads the description, the other one draws. You mustn’t speak Ukrainian. Now team “The BEST” will be the first. Take pencils and listen attentively.

Team “Smile”. He’s got black eyes. His lips are red. He’s got long straight brown hair. His sweater is blue. His trousers are red.

 Team “The Best”. She’s got green eyes. Her mouth is pink. She’s got short curly black hair. Her blouse is yellow. Her skirt is blue. 

 

 

 

 

Teacher. Our next competition is for captains. The fourth competition is for those who like drama lessons. You get a picture and your task is to demonstrate the person’s feelings and mood. Your team has to guess what is depicted in it and say in English.

Physical activity.

Teacher : Are you tired, children? Stand up, everybody. Let’s move a bit. (Sing a song “If you happy and you know it”.)

 Teacher: Now lets what you know about other countries. Please, match these countries with their capitals and people.

 Teacher: Good, now we are watching a video about London. London is a capital of Great Britain.              

 Then we do some tasks “Around London” for “Smiles” and “Places of interest in London” for “The Best” on the computer.

 Teacher: A statement is given to each pupil. Say whether it’s right or wrong.

Team ”Smiles”.

December is the first winter month.

 

In the morning we go to bed.

 

Frogs can fly.

 

Pupils go to school on Sundays.

 

Days are hot in summer.

 

Your mum can’t speak Ukrainian.

 

London is a capital of Ukraine.

 

Monday comes before Tuesday.

 

March, April and May are spring months.

 

The sun is round.

 

You are in the 5th form.

 

Your teacher of English has got long hair.

Children can play snowball in winter.

A week has got 8 days.

 

Wednesday comes after Friday.

 

Santa Claus is a woman.

 

The longest holidays are in summer.

Ice – cream is hot.

 

You have breakfast in the morning.

 

We don’t go to school at the weekend.

 

September, October and November are the autumn months.

 

 

 Teacher: So the last competition is “Pantomime”. Each team gets cards with the animals and tries to show them with the help of hands and body (miming).

Teacher: Our quiz show is over and we are thankful to our teams, participants and jury. Please, tell me who is the winner? (Журі називають команду-переможця).Thank you for the game, you were really active today. Stay as friendly as you were today, working together in teams. Бажаю вам завжди залишатися такими дружніми, як ви були сьогодні! Думаю, сьогодні перемогла дружба!
