Мета:

навчальна: повторити лексичні одиниці з теми (назви сезонів, погоди в різні пори року, природні явища); описувати погоду та надавати інформацію про погоду в різні пори року; закріпити навички вживання вивчених граматичних часів, вживання often, sometimes, never, usually;

розвивальна: розвивати фонематичний слух, навички аудіювання, увагу, короткотривалу та довготривалу пам’ять;

виховна: виховувати ввічливість у спілкуванні;

формувати інформаційно-цифрову компетентність (вивчення мови з використанням ІКТ), уміння вчитися впродовж життя (сміливість у використання іноземної мови, наполегливість, внутрішня мотивація та впевненість в успіху), предметну компетентність (здатність спілкуватись іноземною мовою), компетентність у природничих науках (уміння описувати природні явища), соціальну компетентність (співпрацювати з іншими на результат, спілкуючись іноземною мовою).

Тип уроку: систематизації та застосування знань.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, словник, дошка (дата, тема, наочність за темою, малюнки-розгадки для загадок), комп’ютер (запис пісні для мовленнєвої розминки, фізхвилинки, запис тексту для аудіювання, презентація до уроку), назви груп, на які розділено учнів згідно з жеребкуванням, картки для індивідуальної роботи (аудіювання, рефлексії уроку, самооцінювання за темою), магнітна дошка, магніти, крейда.

І. Організаційна частина уроку. Введення в іншомовну атмосферу.

1. Greeting/ Slide 1

T: Good morning dear pupils and guests. My name is Olga Mykolayvna. Today I will be your teacher of English. Nice to meet you today! How are you today?

2. Aim and Motivation/ Phonetic drill/Slide 2

a) Singing the song “What’s the weather like today?”

T: We can start our lesson with the phonetic drill. Let’s stand up, sing the song and do the actions. 

b) Riddles on the topic for pupils.

T: Now try to guess the riddles that help us to know what the topic of our lesson is.

• This is the season then the birds make their nests. This is the season we all like the best (Spring.)
• This is the season then nights are short and children always have fun and sport. Boating and swimming all day long will make us health and strong.  (Summer)
• This is the season the days are cool when we eat apples and go to school. (Autumn)
• This is the season then children ski and Father Frost brings New Year tree.   (Winter)

T: Well done!

T: Tell me, please, what is the topic of the lesson? Right you are. The topic of the lesson is “Nature and weather”. Today we’ll sum up the knowledge on the topic “Nature and weather”, improve our speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Let’s look at the plan of our today’s lesson.

• At first, I suggest you to listen to the text “Seasons of the year”.
• After that, you will work in groups and read the texts about the seasons.
• Then a short physical warming up will give us some energy to continue the work.
• And, of course, you will speak, work in pairs, act out the dialogues.
• We can improve our writing skills. So, let’s start!

T: Now we have listening. You will listen to the text and do the first task.

1. Listen to the text about the weather and seasons.

T: It is the time for reading. You will work in groups. Every group has its own text. You have got the texts in your workbooks about different season of the year. Read them, please, and complete with the necessary words. You may start. (Pupils works in groups)

a) Complete the text with the words from the box given below.

T: Let’s read the texts.  Who will read from your group? (Every group read the text and the teacher checks the task and comments the marks). Put you the mark for the task from 3 to 1 and write it under the done task.

3. Physical warming up/ Slide 8

T: You are tired. That’s why it is the time for having fun and singing. Let’s stand up and sing the song “Four seasons”). Ok.  Let’s continue our lesson.

a) T: According to the plan of our lesson, it’s time to work in pairs. Put the sentences into the right order to make the dialogues and act them out.

Summer

Dan: It’s summer.

Ann: What is the weather like in summer?

Dan: It is usually hot and sunny in summer.

Ann: What do you like to do in summer?

Dan: I like to swim and play outdoors with my friends.

Ann: What do you usually wear in summer?

Dan: I wear shorts and a T-shirt.

Autumn

Ann: What’s your favourite season?

Dan: It’s autumn.

Ann: What is the weather like in autumn?

Dan: It is usually cool and rainy in autumn.

Ann: What do you like to do in autumn?

Dan: I like to fly a kite and rollerblade in the park.

Ann: What do you usually wear in autumn?

Dan: I wear a jacket and jeans.

Winter

Ann: What’s your favourite season?

Dan: It’s winter.

Ann: What is the weather like in winter?

Dan: It is usually cold and snowy in winter.

Ann: What do you like to do in winter?

Dan: I like to play snowballs and skate.

Ann: What do you usually wear in winter?

Dan: I wear a coat and boots.

Spring

Ann: What’s your favourite season?

Dan: It’s spring.

Ann: What is the weather like in spring?

Dan: It is usually chilly and windy in spring.

Ann: What do you like to do in spring?

Dan: I like to play football and go to the picnics.

Ann: What do you usually wear in spring?

Dan: I wear a jacket and trousers.
