T: Dear children, today we have an unusual lesson. We have some guests. But I would like you to be active and work as you usually work. So let’s start.
Let’s look out of the window. What season is it now? What month? It often rains in November. Is it raining now? What day of the week is it today? It’s Friday! Our weekends come after it. So you’ll have a lot of free time and time for your hobbies.
2.Повідомлення теми і мети уроку.
T: The theme of our lesson is “Free time activities and hobbies”. By the way, what is hobby? Yes, hobby is what you like doing in your free time. We have a lot of duties in our life but without hobbies our life is boring.
So, the objectives of our lesson are:
to be fond + verb with – ing ending
3. Перевірка домашнього завдання.
Учні вимовляють назви хобі та групу, до якої вони відносяться. Після цього розповідають діалоги про свої улюблені види діяльності і чому вони полюбляють саме їх.
T: So, your first task is to review your knowledge about hobbies. Hobbies are divided into four groups:
- learning thing, doing things, making things, collecting things.
Your task is to name the hobby and match it with corresponding group. Please, start.
Let’s read the names of the hobbies all together. Don’t forget about correct pronunciation of the –ing ending.
Now, review the dialogues you’ve made at home. You have half a minute for it.
4. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.
Вчитель нагадує правила утворення the Present Simple tense, після чого відпрацьовуються розповідні, заперечні та питальні речення.
Гра “Grammar Chain”
T: Now let’s go to the grammar revision. Revise the rules of the Present Simple Tense. What are the time expressions or markers of the Present Simple? So, we use the Present Simple when we tell about what we always, usually, often do. Let’s divide into two groups. I say the affirmative sentence, group №1 – negative, group №2 – interrogative.

T: Open your books on page 61. I would like to meet you with a girl. Her name is Emily. She is a very busy person. Her activities are doing aerobics, singing in a choir, acting in a drama group and some others.
Now you are divided into four groups. You have sheets of paper with the names of the days of the week and seven stripes with Emily’s activities. After listening your task is to match the days of the weeks with these activities. But be attentive, please. There is a mistake in the text recorded. Emily does the same activities on Tuesday and Thursday

T: Let’s check up if you have done this task correctly. We know the rules of Present Simple. Emily is a girl( she) so don’t forget about ending ”s”

Кожна група отримує картки з 4 запитаннями різних типів. Учні разом обговорюють відповіді, один з членів команди записує їх на картку. Через 3 хвилини кожний член групи відповідає на запитання. Кожна правильна відповідь – 1 бал
T: Now we have another task – these cards with four different questions for each group. You have a chance to get 4 points. You may choose the writer, but work in a team and help each other. Every member has to answer. So, you have two minutes, start working.

Перед читанням тексту вводиться конструкція to be fond of , яка відпрацьовується у питально – відповідній вправі в режимі T-P.
Після цього учні отримують картки для самостійної роботи і доповнюють текст словами із рамки. Потім вони ланцюжком читають доповнені речення. Після цього учні читають твердження до тексту та погоджуються чи не погоджуються з ними.
T: What do the members of your family like doing in their free time? Or what are they fond of doing? We can also use this structure when we speak about hobbies.
To be fond of – захоплюватися чимось. We know the verb to be has three forms.
What is your mother fond of?
You have a text in front of you. It is about different hobbies of the Stones family. Your task is to read the text and complete it with the words from the box.

You have the example for your home task. You have to make an oral report about different hobbies of your family members. Open your books on page 73. Exercise 1 will help you in your reporting.
You have done a lot of exercises. Our main tasks were to develop our listening, writing and speaking skills, to learn about each other’s hobbies and practice the Present Simple Tense.
I think we were successful in doing them.

T: Now the time for our reflexing. You have three smiley faces: happy, surprised and sad. Evaluate the level of your participation, your activity and mood. Choose one of them and show me. So, who has chosen a happy face? A surprising face? A sad face?
