Практичні: Розвивати навички діалогічного й писемного мовлення, аудіювання, комунікативні здібності, мовленнєву реакцію, фонематичний слух.

Освітні: Розширювати знання учнів про дні тижня та їхнє  походження

Виховні: Виховувати позитивне ставлення до іноземної мови.

Обладнання:  комп’ютер, телевізор, дошка, роздавальний матеріал

Мовний матеріал:  days of the week, to be free, prepositions for days of the week

Використані підручники: PB, AB “NEW LET’S LEARN ENGLISH” by Don Dallas, Linda Pelham

Тип уроку:  урок вдосконалення лексико-грамматичних навичок.

1. Організаційний момент.

- Привітання. Greeting:

T.: Good morning? How are you this morning? I am glad to see you. And now, boys and girls, greet each other, please.

T: What season is it now?  It’s spring now.

 What are the spring months?

 The spring months are March, April and May.

What month comes after March?

What month comes after April?

What month comes before April?

What month comes before May?

And how many weeks are there in each month? Yes, you are right, four. What are they? Do you remember? (презентація з днями тижня)

Here is a rhyme for you to practice the days of the week.

We work on Monday,

We read on Tuesday,

We write on Wednesday,

We count on Thursday,

We speak on Friday,

We play on Saturday.

2. Основна частина уроку.

- Checking home-work. Перевірка домашнього завдання.

           For today you prepared stories about your working day.

(Children present their projects)

 But first let us see what you can usually do during the day. Let us sing the song about it (песня про рабочий день)

       (2—3 pupils)

       - Revision and practice. Повторення та відпрацювання лексико-граматичного матеріалу.

       1. T.: As you can easily guess we’ll deal with the days of the week today.  At the end of the lesson you’ll answer the question:

 Which day of the week do you like best? We’ll do a survey and we’ll find out which day of the week is your favorite (напечатать на листиках и раздать каждому ученику).

2. Look around your classroom. You can see the cards, each with one day of the week written on all around. I say the day and you point to the correct card.

       3. Spell the days of the week. Spell the word Monday…….

    4. T.: Now we’ll see who remembers the spelling best. Fill in the missing letters.

    5. T. When do you go to school?

P. I go to school on…

T. And what about Sunday and Saturday?  If you do not go to school on these days, then you are free.

P. I am free on Sunday.

   6. T. When is your neighbor free? Face each other and ask your classmate when he or she is free (pupils work in pairs)

T.:   Open your Pupil’s Books and find page 65.

       We start a new unit today. You’ll learn how to ask and answer questions about plans.

       Now look at the page and tell me how many children you can see;

How many boys are there?

How many girls are there?

What are their names?

T.:   So, the children want to go to Ocean Park.

T.:  Let us speak about Tony? What does he do on Wednesday/ Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday/Sunday?  Don’t forget to put the ending –s to the verbs (картинка на екрані)

P.1:  On Wednesday he reads.

P.2:  On Thursday he rides a bike.

P.3:  On Friday he watches TV.

P.4:  On Saturday he sweeps the floor.

P.5:  On Sunday he plays football.

T.:  What about Monday and Tuesday? Is he free on these days?

P.:  Yes, he is. He is free on Monday and Tuesday.

T.:  Now, please, face each other and continue asking questions about May, Paul and Sue. On the screen you can see the questions to help you. (The pupils work in pairs asking and answering questions about the children).

Have a look at their timetable and guess if they can go to Ocean park  together. If not tell me why.

P.:   They can’t go to Ocean Park all together because they all have different plans.

T.:   And now it’s high time to find out when you are free. When are you free, Sonia?

P.:  I am free on ….   (Pupils continue asking and answering questions).

T.:  As you can see most of the pupils are free on Saturday and Sunday. Tell me, please, how you usually spend your free time. Here on the screen you can see some hints. (presentation)

 So, it’s the time for answering the question you got at the beginning of the lesson.  You write your answers on the shits of paper, write your names and put your shits of paper into the box. Then one of you takes a shit of paper without looking in the box and says what day of the week his or her friend likes best. e.g. Nikita likes Monday best.

So, today you learned the days of the week, how to ask and answer about plans and your friends favorite days.
