Урок "Food. In the kingdom of lost appetite"

 

 "IN THE KINGDOM OF LOST APPTITE"

 Conductor 1: Dear ladies and gentlemen, we are glad to greet you in our kingdom of “Lost appetite”. You see that there is a young and very beautiful princess in this kingdom, but she is very sad: she does not want to eat anything.

 

   Conductor 2:The only thing she wants is to find a smart  prince, for her life to be complete and for her appetite to come back. She has met a lot of princes from different kingdoms, but none of them had been good enough for her.

 

   Conductor3: And today our princess wants to find her prince among you. Your two kingdoms of “Sandwiches” and “Pizzas” her last hope.

 

   Conductor1: Only the best of you will make our princess happy, the competition will decide everything. So let’s meet the team from the kingdom of “Sandwiches” and the team from the kingdom of “Pizzas”. Now they will present themselves.(the tams in turn recite the poems that present them).

SANDWICHES

Sandwiches are beautiful,
Sandwiches are fine.
I like sandwiches,
I’d eat them all the time.
I eat them for my breakfast,
I eat them for my lunch,
If I had a hundred sandwiches,
I’d eat them all at once

 

PIZZAS

Pizza is my favourite food,
Pizza, pizza, it’s so good!
Put some cheese on top of it,
Pizza, pizza, it’s a hit!
Put your favourite food on it,
You don’t need a knife or plate!
Eat it hot, or eat it cold,
Eat it when you’re young or old!

 

   Conductor2: As we know different kingdoms speak different languages, but all of you should know the language of the kingdom of “Lost appetite” to talk to the princess.

 

Contest #1

   Conductor3: So now we will see how good you can translate words from Ukrainian into English: you name a word in Ukrainian and your opponent translates it into English, you should do it quickly throwing a ball to each other.)

Contest # 2

   Conductor1: You know the language of the kingdom of “Lost appetite” good. And now imagine that you can not speak at all and for your team to understand what do you want to say you should show it (one participant from each team comes out, takes a sheet of paper with a word on it and shows a pantomime for his team to guess the word – 5 words for each team).

Our  school is very good.

for my teachers, friends and me.

 

Pupil #2   Healthy food For supper we always need Milk and butter bread and meat When I’m in a good mood, I can buy an expensive food. Many people often advised me To eat healthy food and I’ve to agree.

Pupil #3     Cheese, yoghurt and bread Don’t eat before you go to bed. Pasta , rice, nuts and fish What is your favorite dish? Vegetables and fruit help me to be healthy

Pupil #4     And so I’ll happy and wealthy. Drink juice, milk , eat dairy food And your feeling will be good. No sugar, salt and fat I don’t want to look like a fat cat!

Pupil #5     We need much energy every day To study and work, to go and play! No chips, cud and crunch Only bananas for your lunch! I always have a good appetite, I eat to live and I’m right!

 

 

 

 

Contest #4

   Conductor3: You are excellent domino-players. That’s good. But there happened a trouble – our princess has forgotten all the names of food. She only remembers some descriptions. So listen to them and try to guess. For every correct answer you’ll get a plane – quantity of your points depends on how far your plane will fly.(командам роздаємо по листу А4 кольорового паперу - вони самі роблять літачки. за правильну відповідь команди отримують по 1 балу, якщо літачок долетів до шафи +1б., до дошки +2б, до дверей +3б. ).

   Conductor1: Our princess is grateful to you for reminding her some names of food. And now she wants you to help her to cook some dishes. Name the things you need to cook your favorite dish for your rivals to guess the name of the dish (учні складають рецепти страв).

   Conductor2: And at last we came to the next contest. As you know our princess is a very clever, active, and fun girl. She likes all activities especially running and having fun. So right now we will find out who is the smartest and the fastest. On the wall you can see a board with three columns in it. Your task will be: you see boxes, right? There are different pictures with familiar objects for you in them. You are to take one of this pictures one by one and run as fast as you can to the board and write this word in the column you think it is suit  to: Countable or uncountable. Who is the fastest is a winner. So let’s start. (учні записують у 2 колонки слова які бачать на картках-малюнках, картки тягнуть по черзі.)

   Conductor3: Good of you. Excellent. You were fantastic but our princess still doesn’t want to eat so let’s play one more game familiar for all of you it is a bingo. You need to cross the words if I name it. Who will be the first is a winner.
