Тема: Friends around the World

Мета: практична: активізація вживання лексичного матеріалу з теми, розвиток навичок аудіювання та навичок говоріння за допомогою вербально-зображальних опор;  освітня: удосконалення вживання граматичних структур to have got/has got та Possessive Case; розвивальна: розвивати логічне мислення учнів, стимулювати комунікативно-пізнавальну діяльність учнів; виховна:  формувати культуру мислення та виховувати пізнавальний інтерес до англомовних країн.

Обладнання: підручник ‘Friends (Starter)’ – видавництво Longman; географічна карта світу; опора для розвитку навичок говоріння; аудіо запис текстів ‘Friends around the World.

Хід уроку

1. Організаційний момент:

1. привітання
2. оголошення теми та мети уроку.

     Today we are going to speak about new friends who live in different parts of our planet. We’ll know many new and interesting facts about the countries where our new friends live.

2. Введення в іншомовне спілкування (мікродіалоги у режимі T-Cl/P1/P2…: представлення учнів себе, знайомство з новим учнем класу).
3. Основна частина:

1. повторення лексики з теми: the Earth, Great Britain, Australia, the USA, South Africa, Ukraine, Ukrainian, an elephant, a kangaroo, language.
2. Відповіді на запитання:

1. What planet do you live on?
2. Is it round?
3. Is it a new planet?
4. What is there on the Earth?
5. Who lives on our planet?
6. Is our planet beautiful?

(Some pupils tell about our planet)

3. Робота по темі:

So, pupils told  us that there are small and large countries on our Earth. In these countries many boys and girls live. They speak different languages. Today we’ll meet some of them.

     Look at the map. You can see the countries where your new friends live: Great Britain, the USA, Australia, South Africa.

     Now you’ll listen to texts about your new friends. Your task will be to fill in the table the facts from the text.

4. Слухання текстів та заповнення таблиці даними про кожного друга (ім’я, країна, вік, сім’я, мова, цікаві факти про країну)

(Pupils  listen to the texts. After answering the teacher’s questions they fill the table in some facts)

Text 1. 1. What is the boy’s name? 2. Where is he from? 3. How old is he? 4. Have they got a king in his country? 5. What language is in Great Britain?

Text 2. 1. What is the boy’s name? 2.Where is he from? 3. What language is in Australia? 4. Has he got sisters or brothers? 5. Is Australia a great country? 6. What animals have they got in Australia?

Text 3. 1. What’s the girl’s name? 2. Where is she from? 3. What language is in the USA?  4. Has she got a brother? 5. Is the USA a small country? 6. What have they got in the USA?

Text 4. 1. What’s the girl’s name? 2. Where is she from? 3. What language is in South Africa? 4. Is South Africa a big country? 5. What animals have they got in South Africa?

5. So, pupils, you have got facts about your new friends. Let’s tell about them. (pupils tell about new friends according to the table)
