T: - Good morning, dear boys and girls! Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. Today we will make a trip to London.
- Місяць тому групу наших однокласників запросили в Англію по програмі обміну. І так вони щойно повернулися додому і готові поділитися враженнями.
(Звучить літак. Діти заходять до класу і вітаються)
Teacher: Oh, we hope you are happy to be back at home again, aren’t you?
We would like to know all about your journey. Please begin at the beginning. First tell us how you travelled?
Andrey: Oh, it was an exciting trip. We went to London by a huge comfortable plane.
Shasha: Really how wonderful! How long did it take you to get there?
Liza 1: It took us about three hours. We landed at a large airport at 3 p.m.
Danil: And who met you?
Liza: We were met by our host families. The members of this family are pleasant and kind people.
Danil: Where did you stay there?
Ann: We stayed in our host family in a pretty cottage in London.
Dasha: As far I know one part of London is called “the City”. Did you visit it?
Andrey: Of course we did. On Sunday we were taken on a bus tour about London. We started with Trafalgar square. It is a very beautiful square with Nelson column in the centre. Admiral Nelson is a national English hero.
Danil: What else did you see in London?
Natasha: We saw a lot of places of interest but what I liked most was Westminster Abbey. It is an ancient church, built in the 16th century. Now it is a museum. Many famous writers, poets, public figures are buried there: Charles Dickens, Walter Scott, Thomas Hardy and other great people.
Liza: And I was impressed by the British museum. By the way it’s not a museum, but one of the largest libraries in the world. There is a picture gallery there, as well.
Ann: And to my mind the most impressive building is the House of Parliament, It’s a very large building with beautiful towers. One of them is Clock tower. There is a huge clock, “Big Ben”, on it.
Danil: Are there any parks in London?
Ann: Oh, there a lot of them. London is famous for its parks. One of the most popular parks is Hyde Park.
Shasha: Did you visit any places in Great Britain?
Liza: Yes, we were taken to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. We went there by bus, and we could see pictures view of England.
Dasha: So you enjoyed your journey, didn’t you?
Liza: Sure. And we made friends with the English boys and girls. We are looking forward to their return visit to this country.
