to revise time-expressions of Past Simple and Irregular Verbs;

І. Introduction
1. Greeting(слайд 1)
2.Warming up:poem This is the house that Jack built(слайд 2/3)
3. Now I have got some questions for you . So read and answer .
ІІ. MAIN PART
1.Topic of the lesson
-How do you think what we are going to speak about today? Look at the screen. There is a funny poem. Read it to me please(слайд4)
I knew one boy
His name was Roy.
He bought a dog
And named it Sock.
The dog grew big
Could eat a pig.
Did you notice anything while reading? Yes,you are right. Today we will continue to speak about past actions, do some exercises, read the text, play a game, sing a song.
Look at this castle of the Past Simple Tense. We have to get into it by doing some exercises , reading ,writing and listening. For each task you will get foot prints , they will be your marks at the end . We’ll count them . Step by step we’ll get to this castle and you’ ll find a surprise.
2. Vocabulary
For the first task you should be divided into 3 groups. Please choose the colour of your group. Now red colours sit here , blue ….and yellow …here.
-Your home task was to learn the new words. Now read the words match them to the pictures and give us its definition .( слайд5/6) The best group will get foot prints .

3. Grammar:Fairy tale «Past Simple»
1)- Let’s revise the fairy tale about Past Simple.
a)time-expressions
In English Grammar Land there is a kingdom «Past Simple».The king of this kingdom is Yesterday (слайд 8).
-His brothers Last and Ago help him to rule.
b)regular verbs
-In this kingdom everybody tells about what they did or what happened. Lots of dwarves live here. Every dwarf is an action which was done (a verb). The dwarves wear shoes called«-ed». The dwarves who wear shoes are called «Regular Verbs».(слайд 9)
- The shoes are of different colours: red, blue and green. They make different sounds:
-Now let’s read . Look at the screen (слайд 11)
4. Reading:SB: ex.2,p.72
Do you remember that on our last lesson smth happened to Oscar, Do you want to know what? Ok, so let’s listen then we will read the text. (слайд 12)

Now answer the questions to the text .
1 Where was Oscar yesterday?
2 When did Oscar help his brother?
3 Did Charlie kick the ball to Oscar?
4 Who jumped into the air?
5 Did Oscar land in a bucket ?
6 Was Oscar happy ?

c)irregular verbs
-But some dwarves don’t keep to the rules. They don’t want to wear shoes. They like to wear costumes.These dwarves are called«Irregular verbs». (слайд 13)
-They are very rich and each of them have three costumes (three forms). (слайд 14)
-Let’s revise the irregular verbs you had to learn at home. Here you can see 3 forms of irregular verbs. They are of different colours . Your task is to find three forms of the verb and stick them on the board . (слайд 15)
I will divide you into two teams. Each team should find the correct forms of the verb.
Let‘s start.
So, the winner is team number …………….. Get your marks. It was our next step.
2) -So, my dear students. You have known the first part of the fairy tale. It’s time to listen to the second one.
-There are two servants in this kingdom: Did and Didn’t.
Didn’t helps the king to find out what didn’t happen. It always stands before the dwarf (verb). But Didn’t takes a pay for his help. He takes the shoes called–ed or the second costume. So the dwarves stay without the shoes or in the first costume. (слайд 16)
5.Work with the text: SB: ex.2, p.72
- Now find the negative sentences in the text.
- I did not land on Charlie s shoulders.
- I did not laugh.
OK! WE have done the next step.
-But the king sometimes wonders if something was done. In this case the servant Did helps him. Did stands on the first place and takes a pay too: the shoes and the second costume. (слайд 17)
-Now make the questions and negative forms to the sentences from the text. We will work in pairs . You have papers with sentences on the desks . So first write, then read.
1 Charlie walked into the ring with Sally.
2 Sally bounced the ball on her nose.
3 I landed in a bucket.
4 Everyone clapped and laughed.
5 Charlie kicked a ball to Sally.
6 Oscar helped his brother at the circus.
It was our next step.

10. Speaking: Let’s play a game.
Now you are going to answer my questions. You will do it in such an interesting way. Can you see a box? It is a magic box with questions inside. I will turn the music and you will pass the box to each other. When the music stops, the boy or the girl who has the box should open it and take the question and answer it.

Now count your foot prints. Who has got 7 foot prints, your mark is 11. Who has got 6 -5, you have got 10. Who has got less, I will ask you some questions on the next lesson.
